Recently I had been on a 'Fear Factor' binge. For those of you who don't know much about it, it's a game show that is hosted by Joe Rogan. They select a handful of challenges that involve heights, races against time, eating disgusting things, being surrounded in bugs, etc. It's pretty addictive. At the end of the show there is only one person remaining and they are awarded a cash price of 50, 000. I had spent quite some time watching this show. I burned through all 7 seasons in just a few weeks. I was too cheap to buy them on DVD so I just torrented them on my laptop. When I got to the last available episode, I noticed a file on my computer titled "Season X. I didn't think much of it at first, I assumed it was just a collection of deleted scenes or bloopers or something. There was only one episode in the folder so I clicked play and the show began as usual. Immediately I noticed something was off. The host wasn't the familiar Joe Rogan, no, it was a familiar chubby actor by the name of Philip. I thought that it was the funniest thing! I knew this episode was going to be strange. That was far from the truth. As usual there were 6 contestants, 3 men and 3 women. Generally they would act so confident and positive they were going to win, but these people seemed totally scared. It was as if they didn't willingly sign up for this game. They all looked malnourished, skinny, pale, and tired. Each one of their eyes sunk into their sockets, their cheek bones stuck out of their skinny faces, and you could see their ribs sticking out of their skin. Each character was briefly introduced: Josh, Brandon, Evan, Sarah, Marie, and Joanna. They each had the same exact outfit on: white pants, white shirt, and white shoes. Some of the males weren't wearing shirts at all though. They all had a look of terror on their faces. Something of which had never seen before. I was deeply disturbed. The first challenge was all 6 of the contestants standing in front of a large pit that was covered with a sliding mechanical lid. Each of the participants stood there, almost emotionless, until the lid slid open. The host stood and watched over them with a menacing grin on his face. Something told me this was going to be bad. The lid to the pit finally slid all the way open. It was full of needles, rusty razor blades, and glass. At the other end was a measly bottle of water. That was it. I couldn't see why anyone would be willing to go through 25 feet of hell just for a bottle of water. Before I could even finish my thought, each of the contestants dove head first into the pit. They scrambled and fought, trying to get towards their goal. Josh and Evan were head to head, leading the race. I watched in horror as Joanna grabbed Marie by her hair and was repeatedly slamming her face into a pile of glass. Brandon gained on Josh and Evan as they were in a full on fist fight just out of reach from the bottle of water. The 2 leaders didn't even notice as Brandon passed by and got a grip on the bottle. He didn't get any more than a drink until Sarah came right up behind him, latching on to his back and sunk her teeth deep into his shoulder. Brandon barely winced but it was just enough for him to squeeze the bottle tight and water shot out all over him. They all collectively shrieked in despair as they leaped to lick off all of the water that Brandon was covered in. Each of them tore at his skin with their fingernails and the licking turned into ferocious gnawing. My jaw dropped and a trail of drool hung frown my mouth as I watched the terrifying event. My hands were shaking and my eyes burned as if I hadn't blinked the entire time. I never felt so disturbed yet so intrigued. It was incredible. All of the sudden a bell rang that indicated the time was up. The contestants were prompted by Philip to return from the pit. Only 4 of the 6 contestants ascended. Marie was laying face down, lifeless, with a needle sticking straight out of her neck. Brandon had been piled on, crushed by the weight of the other contestants and ripped to shreds. They all watched as the lid to the pit slid shut and Brandon rolled around in pain, slowly bleeding out. "Now only 4 remain! 2 eliminations in 1 round! Wow! We're going to run out of contestants before we get through all of the challenges. Philip shouted excitedly. The 4 remaining just stood there with blank expressions. Their bodies were covered in deep cuts. Needles and shards of glass were stuck to their skin and they didn't even attempt to remove them. They just stood there, emotionless. Philip's face had morphed from a grin to a disgustingly huge malicious smile that I found almost as disturbing as the scene I had just witnessed. The screen faded black for just a second and then transitioned into the next challenge. "Ok, you vermin, here's your next challenge! We've captured some of your closest loved ones. As you can see here. The camera panned over to a set of monitors organized so they faced each other and every contestant had their own booth. They were in a dark room, a spotlight shined down on the group standing together while another shined upon the set of video equipment. "Now each of you take a seat. Our team is going to torture each of their captives for 5 minutes. You have a choice to stop it at any time. There is a red button on the arm of your chair if you decide to do so. Let's begin. The four remaining participants took their seats and the screens illuminated their faces. It didn't show what had occurred but they really focused on their reactions. All of them watched in horror as the videos projected what allegedly was their loved ones being brutally tortured. Evan almost immediately hit the button on the arm rest. A buzzing sound shot out of my speakers and his screen went black. A masked man then approached from the darkness wielding a pistol. He then put a bullet in the back of Evan's head. Fragments of Evan's brain and skull splattered across the screen, as well as Joanna who had been sitting next to him. Joanna didn't even flinch at the execution that had just occurred beside her. Her eyes were locked on her screen, her face twisted into a horrifying expression. I couldn't imagine what they had felt, but just from the sight of it, I almost began to sob. The timer in the corner of my screen reached zero and all of the monitors became dark. "Ok! Well I guess you 3 have made it to the next round. Let's get on with it shall we. I was far beyond disturbed, yet I couldn't help but keep watching. There was something about the show, the people, and Philip that kept my eyes glued to the screen. My heart pounded against my chest as the screen faded to black and the next scene came into view. The 3 remaining contestants were now standing in an empty room. In the center of the floor was a crude wooden chair with straps attached to the arm rests, ropes were attached to the legs. Philip stepped forward from the darkness. "Earlier I lied to you. There were actually 2 eliminations. One of you kept your eyes closed through the entire challenge. Philip then glared over at Josh who's face now had an expression of sheer terror. That's when 3 masked men appeared from the shadows and grabbed Josh from behind. He could barely put up a fight due to the condition he was in. He managed to scream as the men dragged him over to the chair and strapped in his arms and tied his ankles to the chair. Josh began to squirm and beg for mercy but one of the masked men retrieved a syringe from his pocket and jabbed him in the neck. Josh suddenly became limp, his neck gave way and his head swung down toward his chest. But you could see he was still conscious because his eyes began to blink rapidly. Then Philip began to speak. "For this challenge you will be timed on how quickly you can eat Mr. Cheater's fingers and toes. You must completely swallow each one before moving on to the next. Whoever manages to complete the challenge in the shortest time is the winner. Joanna, you're up first. Joanna was frozen in place. Her eyes were wide open and you could sense the fear emanating from her body. With a shove from Philip, she approached the now catatonic Josh. "Ok Joanna, are you ready. Joanna didn't even budge. "GO. Joanna lifted up one of Josh's arms and started to bite onto his pinky finger. Josh continued to blink even more furiously as she ripped the finger off and started to chew. With each bite you could see the smile on Philip's face grow wider. Joanna managed to eat the fingers and toes off of Josh's right side in 8 minutes and 54 seconds. Next up was Sarah. Sarah knew what time she had to beat so she didn't hesitate to jump right into it. You could see her gag between bites as she ripped at his appendages and nearly swallowed them whole. Sarah finished Josh's left side with a prevailing time of 7 minutes and 18 seconds. "Well it looks like we have a winner. Philip announced. Joanna started to take off running into the darkness but was soon apprehended by the sound of a gunshot in the shadows. "Well, Sarah, you managed to top all of your opponents. How do you feel. Sarah's face was blank, a trail of Josh's blood dripped down from her chin as she just stood there, paralyzed. That's when the screen cut out and a word popped up onto my screen. "Fear Factory" I was shocked. I didn't know what to think other than it had to be some sort of fucked up spoof film. the fat blonde man was a renown actor and all. But it just seemed so real, and wasn't he dead? I ended up brushing it off as an accidental download and went on with my life. Things were rather normal for the next few days. Until one day I received an email. "Congratulations! You have been selected as a contestant in our upcoming episode of Fear Factory! You and 5 other contestants will be participating for a grand prize which will be awarded to the last one standing. I just closed out of my email. There was no way in hell this could be real. It has to be a Shit! Someone's knocking at my door. What the hell would someone want at this time of night? I'll let you know if I find anything else out about the show. Maybe I'll upload it to YouTube. I'll do that once I find out who the hell is knocking on my door.
Story for FREE (You can download it here: Author: Mahanenko Vasiliy / Dmitrieva Evgeniya Chips First Days. Part 2. The jungle welcomed the ‘Dinosaur Hunters (such was the dramatic name that Chip bestowed on his squad) with stultifying, humid heat, the smell of vegetation and rot and the myriad voices of its inhabitants. “Yabba Dabba Doo! ” yelled Groot and earned a resounding smack on the head from Dragonfly. “Shut your mouth! ” she hissed. “The last thing we need is to get ambushed because of your hollering. ” “Why who needs us? ” Groot objected. “Plenty of people, ” Spin interjected. His buddy and he were the same age as the cadets and were also freshmen, only in a civilian university. They were studying to be programmers. “Any old herbivore would be happy to have you as a snack, you radish, ” he went on. Dragonfly giggled as Groot wheezed angrily. “As for us—therere plenty here whod like a meat snack, ” Spin concluded phlegmatically, picking a white flower and handing it to Dragonfly. The girl looked embarrassed for a second but accepted the present anyway. The awkward flirting amused Chip, evoking nostalgia and a slight envy—nostalgia for his own youth and envy because these kids still had everything ahead of them: such as the euphoria of first soaring in the skies and feeling and loving their gentle and mighty machines beneath them. Chip remembered how the CO of his academy, a grizzled veteran who had entered the service back when helicopters still used rotors and wings to fly, paced in front of the wing of cadets and spoke: “If you dont love your machine, if you dont feel her like your own selves, if you dont feel any hit she takes like a blow against your own hides—then youll never make true pilots, brothers. And if you honor and care for her, then youll receive loyalty in return. And then, no matter the fire you draw, you wont be piloting but dancing, holding fast to the sky with every blade. Thats how it is, oh brothers…” “Colonel Sir! ” Dragonflys voice yanked Chip from his reverie. Chip smiled slightly. The tradition of dropping the ‘lieutenant part when addressing a ‘lieutenant colonel in a not entirely formal situation, or when kissing ass, was already well-known to these green kids. “Whos Lili Marleen anyway? ” Dragonfly went on. “You were just singing…” “Ah, ” Chip realized that there was no avoiding another excursion into history. “Thats an old soldiers song from the First World War. That is, from 1914. A certain Hans Leip joined the Reichswehr—that was what the German sectors army was called back then. He was a teacher by profession, but that didnt keep him from dating two girls at the same time, one of whom was named Lili and the other Marleen. So he composed a song for both of them. In his recollections, he was standing at his post not long before being sent to the front. He survived the war and the song survived with him. It only really became popular during the Second World War. Unsurprisingly, the Germans were the first to sing it. After that, to the immense surprise of all the generals, the soldiers of the other armies started singing it too: Everyone loved it. And, as you see, it survived to our day…” Jingle, who was on point, held up a paw, calling for silence. Then he pointed down at his feet where an enormous footprint with three toes was printed into the earth. “I think weve found ‘em, ” Groot stated the obvious. And received another smack on the head from Dragonfly. “Now I know what a horse with a birdbrain looks like, ” Smoky whispered, observing the female ceratosaurus who was busy guarding her nest. She kept checking the temperature, dipping her head into the pile of withered leaves that concealed the eggs she had laid and chasing away small, feathered dinosaurs that looked like hybrids of Komodo dragons with chickens that kept creeping up to it. The feathered dinosaurs were working in a flock of six or seven: While two or three distracted the mother, the rest of them rushed at the nest and rummaged among the leaves, trying to find the eggs while avoiding the ceratosauruss teeth. So far, they had only managed the latter: As soon as the cautious female heard a noise behind her back, she immediately stopped pursuing the others and routed the thieves squealing from her nest. “Damn. Its too bad Sasha and Hamster arent here, ” sighed Chip, watching this drama. “Whos that? ” Shepard asked. “Two of my buddies. Amateur zoologists. Its too bad theyre out about town. A friend of ours is getting married and theyre helping her out. Otherwise theyd be sure to tell us whats up with these chickensaurae and the best way to grill them. They look like velociraptors…Or their cousins. Damn, wish I knew…” “Colonel, sir, how do you know all this anyway? I mean about the Boers, Kipling…Lili Marleen…” asked Jingle crawling over. “I want to know that much too…” “Well start reading and studying, ” Chip replied. “Its not like I knew all this when I was born either. Everything comes with time and stubborn work. Its not like you simply want something and get it, buddy. Even diarrhea doesnt happen just like that. As for knowledge…If you want to shoot for the stars, you have to go through the thorns, not around them. That one isnt mine, by the way. A very smart person said that a long time ago. ” Jingle sighed. It really seemed like he wanted things to happen just like that and immediately. “Okay…” Chip apprised the situation one more time. The squad was lying prone in the bushes and even Groot was keeping his mouth shut insofar as his nature permitted it. And this struck Chip as very suspicious. His entire experience with this squad simply screamed at him that something wasnt right here. People like this jabbermouth with an appetite for adventure simply couldnt lie prone and avoid doing anything. And Chip guessed right on the mark: As he and the rest of the squad looked on, Groot stood up to his full height and began walking to the ceratosauruss nest. “Wait, you idiot! ” Dragonfly hissed. But Groot, paying no attention to her hissing, plodded onward to meet the ceratosauruss toothy maw. The female, seeing this green thing approaching her from the forest, lowered her head and squinted suspiciously. Groot fearlessly walked right up to the dinosaur, threw up his arms and announced: “I! Am! Groot! ” “You are a moron! ” sounded a voice from the bushes behind him. The ceratosaurus immediately popped up her head but spying no threat, went back to studying the uninvited guest. The guest was subjected to scrupulous sniffing, deemed uninteresting from any point of view the ceratosaurus held to and thereupon pushed away from the nest with a snort. Smiling ecstatically, Groot turned around 180 degrees and plodded back. Right in the direction of another piping hot smack on the head from Dragonfly that made the biotas witless head ring loud throughout the forest. “What was that all about, cadet? ” Chip asked sternly, once the blows echo ceased wandering among the trees. “Well…” Groot glanced askance at Dragonfly and stepped further away, just in case. “Im like grass…” He waited calmly for his buddies to finish their scalding remarks on this point and went on: “And that two-legged lizard is a predator, I believe. So I decided to take a looksee whether shed attack me or not. She didnt. And that means I could be useful. ” “Could be, ” Chip agreed. “But if you pull something like this again, Ill feed you to that horned fellow right there! ” He pointed at the triceratops peacefully grazing at the other edge of the forest clearing. “I did not travel a difficult and thorny path from spermatozoa to lieutenant colonel just to watch you improvise when were out in the field, ” Chip went on. “Id happily split your tree hollow open, you foliose papua, so that a squirrel could move in—the only thing thats keeping me from it is Zarathustra. All right, you nitwit, go on. Pappy Chip needs to think. ” Groot sidled away from danger, concealing himself behind Jingle and Shepard, while Chip really did prop up his chin and began to think. And so: The nest was almost in the center of the clearing, watched over by a mother whom no one wanted to tangle with. Besides her, there were the feathered velociraptors milling around the clearing—and these were also worth accounting for: They wouldnt dare attack the entire squad, but anyone apart would certainly get chewed up. And finally there was the triceratops, peacefully munching grass and not giving one fart for all the hubbub around the nest. On the other hand, the biota did not seem to draw aggro from the ceratosaurus. And only because this vegetable organism was not among the gastronomic preferences of the predatory lizard. Even as a side. And yet again: This would only be the case up until the moment he tried to steal a precious egg from the nest. At that point, Groot would immediately pass from the category of ‘harmless junk to ‘kill the bastard. Taking into account the biotas stamina, the timeframe—between the thefts detection and the juicy ‘crunch! signaling the end of the thiefs career (and lifes journey)—would be quite brief. Okay…Chip took a branch and used it to sketch a map of the clearing and the surrounding forest on the ground. The feathered looters fled to the other side of the clearing from where the squad was hiding in the bushes. It seemed their chicken brains could fathom what would happen if they met the pircs in open battle. They also didnt risk approaching the ancient cow grazing to the left of Chips position. They were like Mesozaic street bums or something: strong in numbers but as soon as the scenario changed, they would break into a panicked herd. Accordingly, if you scared them and funneled them into the clearing, the ceratosaurus would react and chase after them. But finding the eggs in the leafage and placing them in the satchels would take some time. That was a minus. But… Chip stared pensively at Groot. Groot grew nervous under the commanders close stare and tried to hide himself behind Dragonfly—only to be mercilessly shoved back to his spot. “Eh…Is something wrong, Colonel Sir? ” the biota asked cautiously, having made certain that all paths of retreat were blocked to him. “Youre about to atone for your foolishness with your blood, ” Chip placed a paw on his shoulder. “Since that overgrown chicken doesnt attack you, go over and stand by her nest to see where the eggs are located. That should save us some time. Got that? ” “Sir, yes, sir, Colonel Sir! ” Groot stood up straight, excited at the mission hed been assigned. Hed already begun to worry that the terrible lieutenant colonel would cook up some nastiness for him for purposes of edification. And yet now it looked like he was even praised him. “What about us? ” Smoky asked. “Were going to circle the clearing and see where those chickensaurae are milling. ” “What do we need them for? ” Jingle wondered. “Look, ” Chip pointed at the velociraptors that launched another failed raid to steal an egg. “For the momma and that three-horned cow over there, the feathered dinosaurs are the main enemy. If we set that flock running into the clearing, theyll have to dash directly. The female will obviously chase after them, figuring that those bastards are trying to purloin her progeny once again. While shes chasing them, well run like wild hogs for the nest where our brave comrade Groot will have scouted the lay of the land. And I do mean scouted and not ‘showed his initiative! ” Groot nodded frenetically, indicating that he had understood everything correctly and that he wouldnt dare stray from the instructions hed received even a tiny little bit. Just in case, Chip fixed him with a stern stare and went on: “And so, Groot scouts the eggs and indicates their location when we arrive. After that he acts as a lookout to make sure that the momma-saur doesnt consume us while were playing grave-robbers. Dragonfly and I will start loading our satchels—two eggs in each, remember? The first satchel is for Jingle, the second is Smoky, the third is Spin, the fourth Shepard, and the fifth Dragonfly. Thats ten. Once the eggs are in your satchel, you run as fast as you can to the forest and wait for the others at the edge. Once everyones assembled, we hustle back to base. Else, if something goes wrong, wait for my order. Everyone remember everything? ” “Sir, yes sir! ” The squad echoed in unison. Even the programmers were on the ball, demonstrating that the week they had spent under Chips leadership hadnt been wasted. “Then lets get to it, ” Chip ordered. Groot immediately turned around and happily plodded off to the nest. A velociraptor went hurtling past him, running as fast as it could and utterly ignoring the biota, which only reaffirmed the cadets earlier words: The race of sentient plants was entirely uninteresting to the predators. For her part, the ceratosaurus female paid absolutely no attention to the biota that took up position next to her nest. She merely glanced askance, noticed the harmless bundle of parsley and went on tending to her parental duties. “Okay, situation looks nominal, ” Chip stated with satisfaction. “Follow me at a jogging pace! ” And the squad set off around the clearing in a line. It was easy and pleasant to jog with the satchels empty. Right until the point that Shepard suddenly called out: “Oh, look at them apples! ” “Dont you dare…” Chip began but he was too late. Shepard grabbed the bright orange fruit that really did resemble an apple and bit into it with an audible crunch. In the next instant, the pircs snouts were assaulted by an unbearable stench. A notification popped up announcing a debuff they had received, and the contents of Chips stomach hurled upward and onward with cosmic speed. His vision went blurry and the lieutenant colonel didnt even remember grabbing Dragonfly and Jingle by their scruffs and running away. He crashed through the brush with nothing but the desire to breathe fresh air again in his mind. When he came to, Chip was in the middle of the dense forest, with the ‘Burned Throat debuff. Everyone else, including that stupid Shepard, were beside him panting desperately. With that said, Shepard was unconscious and draped over Smokys shoulders, making pathetic whimpering sounds and weakly moving his paws. Unlike the others, hed earned three debuffs at once, including nausea, a malus to his strength and disorientation for the next hour. “You fool-of-a-saurus! ” Chip turned on him after wiping his mouth. “Didnt anyone teach you not to stick foreign objects in your mouth, eh? Here it is—definitive proof that man could not have evolved from ape because any dumb old macaque lives in the forest her whole life and knows not to just stick whatever in her mouth, but you, you dimwit, cant figure out the same thing after eighteen years of your momma telling you not to! ” In reply Shepard could only hiccup and drool, looking pitifully at his enraged CO. “We need a healer, ” Smoky said. “Our medic is out there in the clearing so forget it, ” replied Chip. “Well drink some water and go on with the quest. Well leave Shepard here. Jingle take his satchel. Smoky, when we run for it, you grab it. Ill catch up and take over after. Everyone got that? ” “Sir, yes sir, ” the squad replied much more quietly this time. Shepard could only hiccup and roll his eyes. “Right…” Chip looked around. “Wait here. ” “Where are you going, Colonel Sir? ” Spin asked. “Im going to go pick some of those apples, ” Chip replied. “What if the momma-saurus attacks us when we least expect it. Ill toss her a snack. Its not nice to drop in empty-handed. ” Chip located the tree without any difficulty—it stank to high heaven after all. Holding his breath, he quickly picked two apples and stuck them in his pockets. Then he quickly hurried back. The rest of the journey passed without incident. Shepard calmly hung out on Chips and Smokys shoulders, making no attempt to taste any of the local flora. And the others made no attempt to break discipline. Groot seemed to understand the precariousness of his position and was maintaining discipline as well. Such was Chips conclusion, seeing the biota standing upright beside the nest. Groot stood ‘at ease and moved only his eyes. “Is he always like that? Until he gets it in the neck, he wont do anything? ” Chip asked with curiosity. “Always, ” Dragonfly sighed. “Well, if someone doesnt snap his neck, hell make a decent pilot I suppose, ” Chip hummed. “Now everyone be quiet. We need to find the chickensaurae…” The ‘chickensaurae were located quickly enough. The feathered predators were sitting in a circle and clearly planning their next raid on the nest. These deliberations were quite involved, just like in a real parliament: with screams, spits, kicks and all the other accouterments of civilized discourse. This permitted the squad to creep up on them and surround them. “I cast myself into the tempest, my head held proudly high! ” hollered Chip as he burst into the clearing. The others, dashed after him screaming their heads off. The velociraptor leader—as a leader should—was the first to react to this sudden threat and spread his wings menacingly. “Liverpool! You never walk alone! ” yelled Chip and kicked him as hard as he could. The leader shot up into the air like a rocket and trailing feathers disappeared among the branches in the direction of the clearing. The squad watched him plunk in a clump right in front of the stunned ceratosaurus. And while she stared with amazement at the breakfast that heaven had so delivered right to her plate, the leader figured out bit by bit what was going on and where he was. Even through the bushes you could see the velociraptors eyes take on a distinct square shape, while his toothy jaw, which had not evolved to speak, mimed a quite distinct ‘Oh, crud. Subsequent events followed as quickly as an avalanche. The ceratosaurus female finally realized what kind of gift destiny had granted her and tried to consume her unexpected breakfast. But it was too late: The velociraptor leader had come to. The giant jaws snapped thin air, managing only to catch a tail feather or two as the thief fled with his eyes bulging and squealed something that somehow resembled ‘Oh god oh god oh god! sprinting as fast as he could for the dense undergrowth. The rest of the flock meanwhile had taken their own view of the situation and now grasping the change in the party politics, stepped out to the clearing…and right into the path of the ceratosaurus who was simply stumped by the appearance of such a copious amount of snacks. Bedlam took over the clearing. The velociraptors squealed pitifully and galloped for the brush like rabid cheerleaders in some horror comedy. The ceratosaurus stamped after them, snapping her teeth and drooling with hunger. And only Groot, who went on standing there like some toy soldier, and the phlegmatically-chewing triceratops remained as the solitary islands of tranquility in the ensuing ocean of insanity. “Stop laughing! Follow me! ” Chip ordered. The squad rushed towards the nest in disciplined order. Only Smoky lagged behind because he had been helping Shepard get more comfortable in the shade. “Finally! ” Groot greeted them happily. “There…the eggs are there. ” He picked up a branch and pointed it to the lower part of the nest. Then he dashed aside as he had been ordered and froze there, staring at the tail of the ceratosaurus vanishing among the trees. They got to work: Taking the eggs from the nest and carefully placing them in specially-designed sections in the satchels. The filled satchels were picked up and carried to the brush and everything went just fine and without a single hitch until it was Chips turn. The lieutenant colonel was fastening his satchel when Groot began to yell: “Help me! ” The biota was running as fast as he could, twisting and turning away from the triceratops jaws. “So thats wholl eat him, ” said Dragonfly. Chip no longer had the time to be surprised how the biota had managed to reach the other end of the clearing. Although, if you think about it, there was nothing surprising here at all: This was Groot after all. “Into the forest! ” Chip growled, heading to intercept the triceratops. Noticing that backup was on its way, Groot changed course to rendezvous with the lieutenant colonel. “Sorry! ” he yelled, running past Chip. “I just wanted to pet him! ” “Ill kill you! ” the lieutenant colonel promised him and whipped the stink-apple from his pocket. Taking a moment to aim, he yelled: “Gasmasks on! ” and tossed the fruit at the triceratops maw. The apple traced a shapely arc and plopped down right on the tongue of the dinosaur, who had opened his mouth in anticipation of a fresh bit of biota salad. The triceratops mechanically snapped his jaw shut and stopped rooted with his horns in the ground. A green gas began to snake from his nostrils and tears seeped from his eyes, while the first of three debuffs appeared over his head. Roaring pitifully, the poor lizard took off through the trees. “Okay. Where is that bastard. ” Chip looked around. The bastard in question was busy rolling an egg out of the nest. “Put it down, you moron! ” barked Chip, running past. Groot hesitated and the pirc grabbed him like a folder of documents and then grabbed the egg too. At this point, there came the crash of a falling tree, drowned out by savage growling. The unsated ceratosaurus returned to the clearing. “Goddamn it, ” the pirc managed. Seeing her plundered nest and something furry beside it with an egg in its paw and the harmless vegetable weirdo underarm, the ceratosaurus immediately put two and two together and launched after her revenge. The lieutenant colonel recalled the stink apple he still had, but there wasnt any time to get it. “I will kill you, Groot! ” hollered Chip tearing for the trees. He yelled at his squad as he ran: “Everyone back to base! Ill distract her! ” Much later, everyone recalled to much laughter how the white pirc tore through the clearing with the dangling biota underarm, the egg in his paws and an endless torrent of curses and oaths streaming from his mouth. Rushing into the forest, Chip tossed Groot over his shoulder, stuck the egg in his hands and kept running as the ceratosaurus smashed against the trees behind him. “You shall not pass! ” yelled the unbridled biota, not suspecting that only the fear of breaking the rhythm of his pace kept the pirc from teaching him when to shut up. As if mocking his words, the ancient trunks that had impeded the enraged mothers progress began to bend with menacing creaking. The flock of velociraptors appeared right in the way of the runner. “Fly, you fools! ” Groot yelled at them. Unlike him, the ancient lizards hadnt read the English fantasy classic and hadnt seen the movies either. In exchange they had a long memory and an excellent appetite. Seeing his assailant on his own, the leader hissed, aggressively ruffling the remaining feathers on his neck. “Toss him the egg! ” Chip yelled. “Why? ” “Ill kill you! ” “Toss him the egg, sir, yes sir! ” The leader didnt have time to revel in the sudden gift that came flying his way. Groot tossed the improvised grenade straight into the velociraptors short paws and the leader automatically grabbed the unexpected gift, instantly becoming the center of attention for the entire flock. Which is what Chip wanted. “Extra point! ” he barked, punting the confused velociraptor as he ran. For the second time in five minutes, the poor lizard surged into the sky. And once again, not of his own volition. Without releasing the egg from his claws, he hurtled right past the eyes of the ceratosaurus who had just finished stamping the trees under her feet. The rest of the flock, recalling what took place following this same event only five minutes ago, didnt bother waiting for the continuation and melted away into the forest. The ceratosaurus watched the leaders trajectory and immediately lost all interest towards Chip. Turning around, she crashed off after the flying egg. “Liverpooool! Allez! Allez! Allez! ” Chip screamed like a steam whistle, disappearing in the dense thicket. “And the Jacksonville Jaguars are headed to the Superbowl! ” squealed Groot from his shoulders. Blood on her name download torrent software. NOTE: This post is a follow-up to a post I made HERE. Real talk: I was going to make it a standalone post—but I ended it with a cliffhanger, and I had a few more ideas stuck in my head. If you enjoyed my last post, hopefully you'll enjoy this one. Anyway. X-Men: Children of the Atom INTRODUCTION: Five years ago, Jean Grey and her fellow X-Men led a daring escape from a US government prison, battled the Sentinels, and narrowly survived a confrontation with the Mutant terrorist Magneto. Now, their story continues. But the five original X-Men—now young adults—face a slough of changes in their private lives. First, Warren Worthington. Angel. chooses to leave the Xavier Institute to care for his terminally ill father. Then Hank McCoy. Beast. chooses to leave to pursue his doctoral studies, planning to devote his life to science. Finally, Bobby Drake. Iceman. who just wants a normal life, decides to settle down with his girlfriend Lorna. Only Scott Summers. Cyclops. can't envision a life outside of the X-Men; ever since losing his family in a mysterious plane crash at the age of 10, the Xavier Institute has been Scott's only home, and the X-Men are the only family that he has left. As Scott's relationship with Jean Grey develops into a passionate love affair, Jean is torn between her devotion to Scott and her desire to move forward with her life. Though she longs to conceal her powerful psychic abilities and live as an ordinary human, Jean knows that Scott could never leave the Institute, and she feels compelled to stay by his side. This leaves Scott and Jean as the last remaining members of the original X-Men. But that may change soon. As Professor Xavier turns his eyes to the world at large, it soon becomes clear that the struggle for Mutant Rights is no longer solely an American problem; all over the world, innocent Mutants are being arrested and detained by paranoid government forces, and some are choosing to fight back. Over time, rumors spread of an underground network of Mutant rebels, who supposedly work to shelter and protect fugitive Mutants. Some call them terrorists, and others call them freedom fighters—but Professor Xavier sees them as potential new recruits. PROLOGUE: In a snowy forest somewhere north of the Canadian border, a squad of Sentinel pilots sets out to bring in a rogue Mutant. As they use heat vision to scan the rows of trees, the squad leader warns his teammates to stay sharp, reminding them that their target could be anywhere. But as the Sentinels close in on a mysterious figure hidden in the shadows, the mysterious figure fearlessly steps forward to confront them. As he does, we see a glint of light on metal blades, and we hear a distinctive sound: SNIKT! The Sentinels fire their laser cannons—but the figure moves with inhuman agility, dodging their blasts with ease. Before they can lock onto him, he scampers up a tree trunk and jumps from branch to branch, then finally leaps at the nearest Sentinel and slices off its arm. Before the Sentinel can ignite its booster jets and fly away, the figure slices through its engine tank with his deadly metal blades, and the Sentinel catches fire and explodes. Lasers flash as the Sentinels shoot wildly at the mysterious figure scampers from branch to branch, striking at the armored robots with deadly precision. Finally, when he makes his way to the last one, he takes his time pulling the helpless pilot from his cockpit and pinning him to the ground. As he does, we close in on his hand, and we see—for the first time—that the metal blades are actually retractable claws attacked to his knuckles. "Never hunt a hunter. the figure whispers. He slits the pilot's throat, leaving his claws red with blood. ACT 1: On a quiet day in Moscow, a pair of uniformed FSB agents knock on the door of a secluded apartment, flanked by a squad of armed soldiers. When a young blonde woman answer the door, she stares defiantly at the agents. "There's no use playing the fool, Ms. Rasputin. the lead agent says. "We know that you're sheltering a Mutant here. And you know the penalty for refusing to hand him over. The woman— Ilyana Rasputin —stares back at them, maintaining her cold composure. "I would never give my brother to mongrels like you. she hisses. "He's a Mutant, but he's still my brother. A tall, dark-haired man appears behind Ilyana and places a comforting hand upon her shoulder. "It's alright, Ilyana. Piotr Rasputin says. "I'll go quietly. But always remember: your quarrel is with me, and me alone. My family is not to be harmed. With that, the agents cuff Piotr's wrists, and the soldiers escort him from the building at gunpoint. Standing at the window of her apartment with tear-streaked eyes, Ilyana can only watch helplessly as her beloved brother is marched into an armored van, softly whispering "Goodbye" as they close the doors. But unbeknownst to her, he's being watched from afar. It turns out that three members of the mysterious Mutant Freedom Network have come to Moscow, and they know that a Mutant is about to be imprisoned by government forces. This time, they've sworn to do something about it. We meet three of them: Sean Cassidy (callsign. Banshee. a grizzled ex-cop from Dublin who was thrown out of Interpol after he was outed as a Mutant. He possesses a powerful sonic scream that's strong enough to shatter glass, allowing him to fly for limited distances. Ororo Munroe (callsign. Storm. a young Kenyan-born woman who spent years as a petty thief on the streets of Nairobi, but became accepted as a priestess by a group of Bantu farmers, who realized that she possessed a supernatural ability to control the weather. Kurt Wagner (callsign. Nightcrawler. a fun-loving young German man of Romani heritage, who grew up as an acrobatic performer in a traveling circus. Possessing the power to vanish and teleport in a puff of smoke, his Mutant abilities give him a bizarre demonic appearance; his body is covered with blue fur, and he has fangs and a prehensile tail. As Banshee, Storm and Nightcrawler watch the armored van pull into a convoy, a squad of black helicopters appears in the sky, watching the FSB agents from above as they drive Piotr away. At Banshee's command, they bust into action. First, Nightcrawler uses his teleporting abilities to jump into the front seat of the armored van, where he kicks the driver into the street and takes the wheel. As he hijacks the van and drives away with Piotr in the back, Storm lashes out with a bolt of lightning and fries the other vans in the convoy before they can drive off after him. Moments later, Banshee tears through the sky and brings down a helicopter with his sonic scream. "Who the hell are you people. Piotr demands. "And where are you taking me. Relax, mein freund. Nightcrawler says. "We're the good guys! And we're taking you where they can't hurt you. After that, you can go where you wish. Nightcrawler high-tails it to the highway with Storm riding on top of the stolen van, and Banshee follows them from the sky. As the FSB calls for backup, a frantic car chase ensues, and Ororo uses her powers to hold off a squad of pursuing cars while Banshee fights off the helicopters from above. At first, all seems well—but the escape takes a bad turn when Banshee catches a stray bullet and falls to his death. Pushing their powers to their limit, Nightcrawler and Storm fight for their lives against the pursuing soldiers. After breaking free of his cuffs, Piotr helps them out as he reveals his own Mutant ability: he can transform his body into near-indestructible steel, giving him superhuman strength and invulnerability. Before long, the escapees receive a radio message from a familiar voice. "Stay calm. Scott Summers says. "We're right on top of you. A shadow appears on the highway. It's the Blackbird! Scott is sitting in the cockpit, and Jean is next to him. "You've gotta jump. Jean calls. "Don't worry, we'll catch you. From the cockpit of the Blackbird, Jean uses her telekinesis to take control of the van's steering wheel, allowing the trio to clamber onto the roof of the van as it speeds along. As the van drives off the side of a cliff—where the Blackbird is waiting to pick them up—they just barely manage to jump into the cargo hold before the van falls and crashes on the ground below. Safe inside the jet, Storm, Nightcrawler and Piotr meet Scott and Jean personally. "Who are you people, exactly. Storm asks. "We're the X-Men. Scott says proudly. "And if you want to join so are you. It turns out that Professor Xavier has been in touch with the three Mutant freedom fighters for weeks, and he's offered them a place in the Xavier Institute. They accepted, but refused to leave for America before finishing one last rescue. Though the group is saddened by the loss of Banshee, Piotr agrees to join the X-Men along with Storm and Nightcrawler, believing that he has a duty to pay them back for rescuing him. Scott and Jean welcome him to the group with open arms, dubbing him " Colossus. But the X-Men's elation is cut short when the Blackbird mysteriously stops in mid-air. Alarm sirens blare as some mysterious force grips the jet from the outside, and its navigation computers go haywire. As they rush to the cockpit to figure out what's going on, their blood runs cold as they look out the window and see a familiar figure: Magneto. Showing off the full extent of his powers, he effortlessly hovers in mid-air in a bubble of magnetic energy; with one hand outstretched, he holds the Blackbird in the grip of a magnetic field. It seems that Magneto has followed Scott and Jean to Russia, eager for a rematch with them. In the five years since he murdered the scientist Bolivar Trask, he has had numerous confrontations with the X-Men—and each time, the X-Men have narrowly escaped with their lives. Thinking fast, Scott and Jean clamber onto the roof of the Blackbird and engage Magneto, but he taunts them as he deflects Scott's optic blasts and shrugs off Jean's telepathic attacks—but the three new X-Men spring into action to aid them. Though Magneto easily subdues Colossus with his magnetic powers, Storm manages to weaken his shield by summoning a massive lightning storm, and Nightcrawler uses his teleportation abilities to land a crushing kick to his midsection. Taking advantage of the distraction, Scott blasts Magneto with his eyes, weakening him enough to free the Blackbird from his magnetic field. Seizing their window of opportunity, the X-Men pile into the jet and make their escape. Back in Westchester, Professor Xavier happily welcomes his three new recruits to the Xavier Institute with open arms. To mark the occasion, he presents the X-Men with a new set of matching uniforms, and he tells them that they'll begin training in the Danger Room in the morning. Although Nightcrawler is excited to begin, Storm is visibly uncomfortable about being forced to wear a uniform, and Colossus worries that he'll be forced to use his powers to hurt others. Though unspoken, an uncomfortable question hangs in the air: is the Professor turning them into an army? Elsewhere, we see that Professor Xavier isn't the only one with new recruits at his disposal. Since we last saw Magneto, he has persuaded a trio of roguish Mutants to join his cause, and they've established a headquarters in an underground bunker. As Magneto returns from his trip to Russia, we meet them. Toad. a grotesque amphibian Mutant with superhuman reflexes and agility, and a powerful prehensile tongue. His mutation allows him to jump long distances and cling to walls, making him a formidable opponent. The Blob. a grossly obese Mutant with superhuman strength, a nigh-indestructible body, and a fierce appetite. He and Toad have a clear "Mutt and Jeff" dynamic, and frequently hang out together when not on missions. Pyro. a psychotic Australian Mutant with the power of pyrokinesis, allowing him to control and manipulate fire. True to his name, he's a shameless pyromaniac, and relishes the opportunity to cause mass chaos with his trusty flamethrowers. Magneto is the only person who can control him, and Toad and Blob are openly terrified of him. One day, Magneto's three minions launch a surprise attack on a police station in a small American town. After Pyro uses his powers to torch every police officer in sight, Toad and Blob make their way to the jail cells on the lower floor of the building. Locked away in one cell, they find a quiet young blonde-haired man with bruises on his face and tattoos all along his arms. As Toad and Blob greet him, they reveal that they know his entire life story. The young man—whose name is " Alex "—was orphaned at a young age, and spent most of his childhood in foster care before running away and joining a street gang. Recently, though, he was busted by the police after his Mutant abilities manifested in public for the first time. Alex has the ability to fire powerful blasts of superheated plasma from his body; unfortunately, he can't control his ability, often leading to destructive outbursts. Toad and Blob offer to break Alex out of jail, promising that their boss—Magneto—will never force him to conceal his powers. To their astonishment, Alex reveals the full extent of his powers as he blasts a hole in the wall of the jail. Before he leaves to meet Magneto, he requests that his new teammates call him by his old street name. Havok. Over the ensuing weeks and months, Storm, Nightcrawler and Colossus bond with Scott and Jean as they continue their grueling training regimen in the Danger Room under Professor Xavier's watchful eye. But tensions soon erupt when the Professor tells them about their first team mission. He suspects that Magneto and his " Brotherhood of Mutants " are planning a major coordinated attack on a high-level government target, and he wants the X-Men to stop the attack when it happens. Storm—who devoted her life to defending Mutants from persecution—chafes at the idea of using her powers to fight other Mutants, particularly if it means defending the US government. By now, the X-Men have deduced that the Professor has a personal history with the mysterious Magneto, and some of them suspect that his rivalry with the Mutant terrorist is far more personal than he's letting on; with that in mind, some of the team wonder if he's exploiting them to settle a personal vendetta. In a tense argument, the Professor tells the team that he's devoted to the Mutant race's freedom above all else—but he's playing a "long game" and it will take precision and strategy to achieve that goal. If Magneto isn't stopped, he believes that his terrorist campaign could ultimately spark an all-out war between humans and Mutants, which could end with Mutants being permanently exterminated. For the good of his people, the Professor refuses to let that happen. Later that night, as Scott and Jean lay down to sleep, Scott awoken by a nightmare, where he sees himself falling from the sky in a burning airplane; like countless nights before, his thoughts are plagued by his memories of the plane crash that killed his parents. As Jean tries to calm him down, she asks him if he wants to tell her about the dream—which he has had many times before. Still visibly shaken by the nightmare, Scott can't bring himself to describe it in words. But, of course, Jean has other ways of seeing the dream for herself. "Do you want to show me. Jean asks, laying her hand upon his head. Scott instantly knows what she means. Though slightly apprehensive, he nods his head. Using her telepathy to scan his mind, Jean sees Scott's last memory of his parents. In the memory, she sees a dark-haired man in a military uniform — Scott's father —sitting in the cockpit of a single-engine aircraft, frantically trying to keep it stable as the fuselage burns. Amid the chaos, a mysterious voice issues from the plane's radio, though Jean can't hear what it says. Finally, a blonde-haired woman — Scott's mother —hands him a parachute and opens the nearest door. After strapping the parachute to his back, Scott's mother pushes him to the door and orders him to jump. As the vision ends, a ten-year-old Scott leaps from the plane as it's consumed by flame. After finally seeing Scott's worst memory for herself, Jean bursts into tears as she embraces him. More than 10 years ago, Scott had to watch his entire family die in the span of an hour. Now, as he prepares for an inevitable confrontation with Magneto, he fears that some of his teammates won't make it back alive. After losing one family, he knows that he can't handle losing another. Jean promises him that he won't—but deep down, she doubts whether she can keep that promise. Far away from Westchester, somewhere in the American Midwest, we rejoin the mysterious man with the metal claws as he makes his way through the desolate countryside, walking purposefully toward some unknown destination. Suddenly, he sniffs the air and freezes in place. Nearby, he hears the sound of helicopter blades closing in fast. He runs as fast as his legs will take him, but a sleek Army chopper catches up with him, and a squad of heavily armed soldiers rappel from the helicopter and train their weapons on him. Undaunted, the clawed man charges at the soldiers as they fire their guns, and he effortlessly slices off the barrel of a machine gun with his claws. One soldier scores a lucky shot with his pistol—but it just makes him angry, and he shrugs off the wound as it heals in seconds. A tense battle ensues, and the clawed man kills every soldier that dares approach him. In the end, as the sole survivor attempts to crawl away, he impales him through the stomach and stakes him to the ground. As the impaled soldier cries out for mercy, the clawed man leans in close and whispers in his ear. "You're already dead, bub. he says. "But I can make it quick and painless, or I can make it agony. If you want to die with your limbs intact, you'll tell me what I want to know—and you won't hold back anything. The soldier whimpers and nods. "Good. the clawed man says. "Now. Tell me everything you know about Weapon X. ACT 2: After weeks of training, the call finally arrives from Professor Xavier: Magneto and his minions are mobilizing, and they've launched an attack on a remote US Army base in the Nevada Desert. As an alarm siren rings, the X-Men suit up and pile into the Blackbird, and Scott plots a course for the American Southwest. In the Nevada Desert, a battle erupts as Magneto moves on the base with the Brotherhood close behind him. Magneto uses his magnetic fields to tear tanks apart with ease, deflecting missiles and mortal shells with his shields; Toad leaps through the air, snapping soldiers' necks left and right; Blob charges through rows of soldiers as bullets bounce harmlessly off of his body; Pyro launches torrents of flame at fleeing soldiers; and Havok launches volleys of glowing plasma at the base, cutting down soldiers by the dozen. Then the Blackbird arrives. The X-Men pile out, ready for a fight, and a tense battle erupts between the X-Men and the Brotherhood. Colossus and Blob slug it out in a tense fistfight; Toad and Nightcrawler chase each other around the base, showing off their superhuman speed and agility; Storm sends a massive windstorm at Pyro, which results in a massive tornado of fire ripping through the base; Jean pits her telekinesis against Magneto's magnetic fields, and the resulting battle nearly leaves the base in ruins; Scott and Havok launch fearsome energy blasts at each other from afar, blasting through concrete walls and metal armor plating. As the battle rages on, Toad eventually breaks away from Nightcrawler, and he manages to leap past the guards and make his way into the interior of the base. Moving fast, he eventually finds his way into a massive computer mainframe at the heart of the base. As the guards are occupied with fighting the rest of the Brotherhood, he hacks into the base's computer files, and manages to download a massive cache of digital data onto a disk that he brought with him. Although we don't get a good look at the files, the words "Weapon X" are clearly visible on the computer screen. Before Toad can escape with the disk, Nightcrawler catches up with him, and their battle resumes. As Nightcrawler gets the upper hand on Toad and spots the disk in his pocket, he receives a sudden telepathic message from Professor Xavier, who orders him to seize the disk before Toad can escape with it. Though he's perplexed by the Professor's order, Nightcrawler obeys, and he narrowly manages to escape the base with the disk in hand. Outside, the battle turns in the X-Men's favor, and the Brotherhood is forced to retreat as reinforcements arrive. As they scatter, Scott orders the team back to Westchester. Shortly after the Brotherhood makes their escape, an enraged Magneto lambasts Toad for losing the disk to Nightcrawler, but Toad still dutifully reports all that he learned from browsing the base's computer files. "You were right, boss. he says. "Weapon X is real. If it's real, then I suppose Charles has some difficult choices to make. Magneto muses. A few hours after the battle, as the soldiers attempt to rebuild, a lone figure approaches the base. The soldiers don't notice him, but we instantly recognize the figure as the man with the metal claws. He keeps his distance from the base. From his expression, it's obvious that he knows what happened, and he knows what the assailants were after. He sniffs the air, and falls silent as he picks up the scent of the intruders. He leaves, following the scent. As the X-Men return to the mansion to celebrate their victory, Nightcrawler loyally gives the disk to Professor Xavier, but the Professor refuses to tell the X-Men what's on it. Once again, this reignites tensions between the Professor and his team as the X-Men openly chafe at being kept in the dark. Later that night, when Jean visits the Professor in his study, she finds him holding his old photograph of a young Erik Lehnsherr on the grounds of the Xavier Institute. The Professor grows visibly emotional as he recalls his time with his old friend, but he falters when Jean finally addresses the elephant in the room. She asks the Professor how he and Erik Lehnsherr knew each other, and how they became enemies. The Professor can't bring himself to talk about it—but he knows that Jean has other ways of seeing his past for herself. In a scene mirroring Jean's earlier scene with Scott, the Professor allows Jean to use her telepathy to scan his mind. As she does, a scene unfolds. Sometime in the past—at least 20 years earlier—a group of Mutant Rights protestors march down the streets of New York City, waving picket signs and chanting slogans. Suddenly, the police descend on the protestors, and armored police officers begin throwing tear gas canisters at them. Undaunted, they continue to march forward as fist-fights erupt and police sirens blare. As tensions escalate, one officer tackles a protestor and begins beating him with a nightstick until he lies motionless in the streets. Screaming in anguish, another protestor rushes to his friend's aid and cries out for help. When the tear gas clears, we see the protestor cradling his injured friend in his arms, tears streaming down his face. As the camera lingers on them, we recognize the two protestors as a young Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr. Hours later, the injured protestor—Charles—lies in a hospital bed recovering from his injuries, with Erik sitting by his bedside. Though neither of them speak, it's clear that Charles' injuries have seriously damaged his spine, making it unlikely that he'll ever walk again. As this fact sinks in, Erik's expression slowly shifts from shock, to disbelief, to profound sorrow, to—finally—a deep and abiding anger. As Charles lies sedated in his bed, Erik strides from the hospital and walks into the streets; wherever he walks, metal objects rattle and vibrate at his passing. Finally, Erik comes to a stop at a police station, where he raises his hand and effortlessly tears down the front door with his magnetic fields. As he walks inside, we hear screams of fear and agony as he slaughters every police officer he sees. On the other side of town, Charles wakes up in his hospital bed with an expression of pure horror on his face. He doesn't say a word, but it's clear that he knows what his friend has done—and he's all the more horrified that he did it for him. Back in the present day, the Professor hangs his head in sorrow as he remembers Erik's downfall, and Jean puts a comforting hand on his shoulder. In the dead of night—hours after the X-Men have gone to sleep for the night—a mysterious figure approaches the mansion. It's the man with the metal claws! After weeks of fleeing the military, he has finally made his way to Westchester, and he has his sights set on the Xavier Institute. Moving silently, the figure vaults over the gates and creeps across the grounds of the manor, then sneaks into the mansion through a window, moving through the shadowed halls without a sound. Once inside, he heads straight for the Professor's study—where the disk is hidden away. As the figure creeps through the mansion, the Professor wakes, having clearly sensed his presence with his telepathy. Thinking fast, he sends a telepathic message to the X-Men, alerting them to the intruder's presence. Moments later, the X-Men awake and scramble to apprehend him. Undaunted, the intruder pops his claws and prepares for a fight. A fight ensues as Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Nightcrawler and Colossus all rush at the intruder—but he evades them all, and fights off everyone who manages to reach him. With the disk in hand, he runs through the labyrinthine halls of the mansion, rounding corners and clinging to the shadows. After a lengthy chase, Storm finally manages to stun the intruder with a well-placed lightning bolt, and Colossus grabs him in his metal embrace, allowing Jean to lull him into a catatonic state with her telepathy. With the intruder out of commission, the X-Men retrieve the disk and lock him in a secure room. In a fierce argument, Storm confronts the Professor about his constant secret-keeping, and finally demands that he tell the X-Men what's on the disk that Nightcrawler retrieved. After seeing someone break into the X-Men's home searching for the disk, the other X-Men realize how dangerous it really is. Reluctantly, the Professor agrees to tell them the truth. Ever since the US government first discovered the existence of Mutants in the 1960s, it's been rumored that the Department of Defense has secretly been conducting experiments on live Mutant test subjects. While most people in the government view the existence of the "X-gene" as a threat to national security, others believe that it could be a powerful weapon in the right hands. The "Weapon X" project was supposedly founded with that in mind. According to persistent rumors, the soldiers and scientists at Weapon X have spent years seeking out the world's deadliest Mutants, and they've forced them to undergo agonizing surgical procedures and mental conditioning intended to turn them into living weapons. Upon hearing the Professor's story, Scott and Jean recoil in horror as they realize that their own government may have been enslaving Mutants since before they were born. But their horror only grows stronger when the Professor tells them why they were sent on their mission to the Nevada Desert: Magneto is trying to prove the existence of the Weapon X project, and he attacked the Army's base because he believed that their computers contained the location of Weapon X's headquarters. But the Professor wanted to stop Magneto from discovering the location of the project's headquarters, believing that a direct attack on a high-level military base would spark the human-Mutant war that he's dreaded for years. After learning the true purpose of their mission, Storm erupts in anger at the Professor. If she'd known what Magneto was really after, she says, she'd have joined his side and helped him bring down Weapon X. As Nightcrawler and Colossus attempt to calm her down, Jean creeps into the secure room where the intruder is held. As the intruder awakens, Jean carefully approaches him and extends a friendly hand. Having learned the true nature of the mysterious disk, she suspects that the intruder might have understandable reasons for seeking it. She asks the intruder if he'd like to explain himself, but he can't bring himself to speak. But, of course, Jean has other ways of seeing why he's come. For the third time, Jean uses her telepathy. With the intruder's permission, she looks into his mind, and she's terrified by what she sees. As she learns, he's a fugitive test subject of the Weapon X project, and he was abducted by the US military—who forcibly coated his skeleton with the indestructible metal alloy adamantium. Ever since escaping from the organization's clutches in the Canadian Rockies, he has been on the run from the military, determined to track down the location of Weapon X's headquarters so that he can shut it down permanently. Taking pity on the intruder, Jean promises him that he'll always be safe at the Xavier Institute, and she vows to help him shut down Weapon X. Taken aback by her act of kindness, the intruder finally introduces himself. His name is Logan —but in Weapon X, he was known only by the codename " Wolverine. With Jean by his side, Logan exits the locked room, and he explains himself to the X-Men. Having finally learned the full story of Weapon X, the X-Men show him no hostility; if he's truly serious about taking down Weapon X, they tell him, they're on the same side. For the very first time, the X-Men openly defy Professor Xavier, and they tell him that they've decided to shut Weapon X down—with or without his permission. Finally accepting that he won't be able to change his students' minds, the Professor agrees to tell them the location of the project's headquarters: it's located in a base on the remote Pacific island of Krakoa, which can't be found on any map. Armed with Krakoa's coordinates, the X-Men resolve to fly to the island to take on Weapon X, and they invite Logan to join them. ACT 3: At dawn, the X-Men pile into the Blackbird and plot a course for Krakoa, and the Professor bids them farewell. A few hours later, they come up on the remote island—a barren rock patrolled by a platoon of soldiers in unmarked black uniforms. Much to their surprise, the X-Men find themselves intercepted by the Brotherhood, who've followed them to the island via helicopter. As the X-Men pile out and prepare for a fight, the Brotherhood pile out alongside them. As the soldiers dig in and fire on them, the two enemy teams declare a temporary truce, agreeing to work together as long as it takes to shut down Weapon X. In a massive battle sequence, the X-Men and the Brotherhood storm Krakoa, fighting an uphill battle against the soldiers. When the dust clears, they realize that they've won—but there's no base in sight. As far as they can see, the island is nothing but storm-wracked cliffs. As the two rival teams stare each other down in a tense faceoff, Scott and Logan leave to explore the island. As they investigate their surroundings, they eventually discover a hidden passage between two cliffs, which leads them into a shadowy underground chamber deep beneath the surface of Krakoa. When they light a flashlight, the two men recoil in horror as they realize that they're surrounded by locked jail cells filled with the decaying skeletons of Mutant prisoners, who've clearly been dead for years. To their dismay, they realize that they're too late: the base on Krakoa is abandoned, and the leaders of Weapon X have long since located. Scott realizes that the soldiers must have known that they were coming, and someone must have tipped them off. As he explores the abandoned base, Scott stumbles into a darkened room filled with blank television screens. As he draws near, the power flickers on, and a nightmarish face fills each screen: the face of a man with deathly pale skin, eyes as black as coal, and a red diamond tattoo in the center of his forehead. Scott is paralyzed with fear as the pale man laughs, and his voice fills the room. "I suppose I should congratulate you, Mr. Summers. the man says. "I wasn't going to let you shut our little operation down, but I didn't count on you surviving this long. Scott's heart pounds in his chest as he stares at the screens, unable to look away. For reasons that he can't explain something seems inexplicably familiar about the pale man's voice. He knows that he's heard it before. But where? In an instant, Scott realizes the answer. As he finds himself flashing back to an awful day 10 years gone, all of his repressed memories of the plane crash come flooding back. Once again, we see a young Scott Summers sitting in the passenger seat of a small single-engine plane, with his parents sitting in the cockpit. But this time, we can clearly hear the mysterious voice coming from the plane's radio. It's the voice of the pale man! You won't escape me, Major Summers. the voice says. "By my side, your son could have been great. But now he'll die forgotten. And when you're gone, no one will dare speak your name. I know what you've done, Essex. Major Summers says defiantly. "You can't keep this hidden forever. The figure—"Essex"—laughs tauntingly. "I don't intend to, Major Summers. he says. "A new age is dawning. We've accomplished wonders, you and I. Soon, the world will know of all we've done. It's a pity you won't be here to see that day. Goodbye, old friend. On the control panel in front of Major Summers, his radar display shows an object approaching the plane, moving fast. It's a missile—and it's locked onto the plane. As soon as he sees it, he knows that he won't be able to evade it. He turns to Scott, his eyes full of sorrow. We don't hear what's said after that. We only see Scott's mother as she hands a parachute to Scott and pushes him towards the door. As the missile hits, and the plane is engulfed in flame, Scott takes one last look at his parents as he jumps into the open air and pulls his ripcord. Back in the present day, Scott sinks to his knees as he confronts the pale man. For the first time in his life, he realizes the truth about his parents' death: their plane didn't crash—it was shot down! As a token of respect, I'll give you a final chance to turn back. the pale man says. "You might have the courage to challenge me, but a weak fool's courage won't destroy all that I've built. I dealt with your father swiftly—but if you defy me, you'll suffer in ways that your mind can't grasp. This is your only warning, Mr. Summers. If you're wise, you'll never see my face again. With that, the screen goes dark. Screaming with rage, Scott unleashes his optic beams and blasts through the concrete wall. On the surface, the X-Men climb back into the Blackbird, choosing to let the Brotherhood go in peace. With heavy hearts, they return home to Westchester. Back at the mansion, as the team proudly presents Logan with his own room, Scott confronts Professor Xavier in his study. Finally erupting in anger at the man who raised him like a father, Scott demands to know about everything on the disk that the Professor kept from him. After a moment's pause, the Professor inserts the disk into his computer. After scrolling through pages and pages of files, he finally arrives at a photo of Scott's father in his uniform. Below his picture, six awful words tell Scott everything that he needs to know about his fate. NAME: Major Christopher Summers STATUS: Terminated Years ago, Major Christopher Summers was a high-ranking Army officer assigned to the Weapon X project, where he worked directly under the project's founder. But when he realized how barbaric their experiments truly were, he swore to tell the world the truth about the shady organization. When he tried to flee Weapon X's base with his family, the project's founder ordered his plane shot down before it could land. "Who is he. Scott demands. "Where is he. The Professor sadly tells Scott that he doesn't know. Whoever he is, the founder of Weapon X didn't leave any clues about his identity in the computer mainframe, and the Professor has found no clues about his whereabouts. Without a miracle, it's unlikely that Scott will ever find him. Enraged that the Professor didn't tell him the full story of what happened to his parents, he storms out of the Professor's study and runs out of the mansion. As the other X-Men watch him leave, he doesn't even give them a "Goodbye. Moments later, Jean runs after Scott and finds him sitting behind the wheel of his car. She begs him to stay, but Scott tells her that he can't. If he can't find his parents' killer and force him to answer for his crimes, he knows that he'll never be able to live with himself. Until he does, the Xavier Institute isn't his home anymore. Jean stares at Scott, silently pleading with him. "You don't think you can change my mind, do you. Scott asks. "No. Jean says. "But I'm not letting you do this alone. I'm coming with you. Whatever happens out there, I'll be by your side. She opens the car door and takes her place in the passenger seat as Scott guns the engine. Together, they pull away from the Xavier Institute and drive into the setting sun. They may not have a map to follow, but they have a name. Essex. For now, that's better than nothing. TL;DR: As the X-Men square off against Magneto and the Brotherhood of Mutants, they accidentally discover the existence of "Weapon X" a mysterious military program designed to turn Mutants into living weapons. After crossing paths with a fugitive Weapon X test subject called "Wolverine" they resolve to help him shut the program down for good. In the climax, Scott Summers discovers that his deceased father was a former Army officer who tried to expose Weapon X's existence to the world, only to be assassinated by the program's founder: a shadowy figure named "Essex. In the end, he chooses to leave the Xavier Institute to track down Essex and avenge his parents, and Jean Grey chooses to join him.
Blood on Her Name Download torrent download. Blood on her name download torrent 1. Blood on Her Name Download torrentfreak. "Actually, I would suggest starting a little earlier, Master Hiro. Gyro's blank face hums around in front of me and stares at me with his soulless eyes. "The formation of the United Earth Federation came during turbulent political times and was part of a genius plan executed as a joint operation between yourself and Miss Becker. However, it was the discovery of the Volgrim's existence that put Earth on the path to mass cooperation. The Volgrim. I echo Gyro's words and nod slowly. "Yeah, show me what happened on the day we discovered the Volgrim. Gyro nods at me. "The Volgrim observed humanity for over a hundred years before we detected their presence. Once Marie learned of their existence, she scrambled to find out more about them. It turned out the Maries of the other streams did not tell her of the Volgrim's existence, nor of many other Red Level secrets. I raise an eyebrow. "The other Maries? Streams? What do you mean. The AI before me stiffens and his eyes turn red for a moment before reverting to green again. "Error, that information is available only for the Root Admin. Would you care to see a different memory. No. I want to see that one. You do not have the proper clearance. Would you care to see a different memory. I lick my lips slowly and turn away, fuming silently to myself. Then I get an idea. Enable. I cannot enable access. Would you care to see a different memory. Huh? My Wordsmithing can't unlock it? Or maybe, because I'm inside a simulation of sorts, my mouth can't open to form the words. That's plausible. Well, if I can't access the memories and learn about these 'other Maries' then I'll have to think of the answer myself. Clones, perhaps? She told me there were no other Jasons, but now that I think about it, Yama told me I was one of many clones. And if I suppose that he wasn't lying, then perhaps Marie would have clones too. And the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Marie forged a partnership with a human who could kill her with a single word. Having clones of herself would be excellent insurance to prevent him from killing her off. However. if I'm not allowed to hear about the existence of these other Maries, and Gyro is assuming I am the previous Jason. then. doesn't that mean he didn't know about her clones? Now that I think about it, that would be a weak defense. Clones the other Jason doesn't know about wouldn't deter him from taking over all the power for himself. And what was the deal with the 'other streams' Maybe that has something to do with it. I remember from an old TV show that you're never supposed to 'cross the streams' but that probably has nothing to do with there being multiple Maries. I tap my finger on my hip thoughtfully while Gyro hovers up and down slightly, waiting for my next command. Frankly, if he's not going to tell me about Marie's secret twin sisters then it won't do me much good to speculate. Hell, maybe I can find out using my own methods on her later. A jolt of agony shoots through my head and I pause to rub my temples. It feels like someone just stabbed me repeatedly in the right eye with a pocketknife. But just as quickly as the pain sets in, it vanishes, and I feel fine again. Whatever, I guess. "Gyro, take me to the discovery of the Volgrim. He beeps in the affirmative, and for a second I think I see a glint of hesitation in his binary-shaped face, but it passes just as quickly. "Loading memory now, Master Hiro. The world shifts around me, and soon I'm staring right at a shocked Marie. Her eyes are wide, and her mouth is agape. "A contact? But how? This shouldn't be possible. The room coalesces around us, and I quickly take it all in. It's an observatory, though its location is unknown. A giant telescope is aimed up at the night sky above, and various women and men walk around holding clipboards or other such things. My doppelganger stand a few feet away, a bored expression on his face. "Aliens? I mean, humanity always suspected they existed. Are they hostile or friendly. Marie turns back to face him. "You don't understand, Jason. My contacts would have told me if they existed. There's no way the existence of an alien life form, especially one as advanced as these, would have been glossed over. What, are your 'contacts' all-seeing gurus or something? Come on; you're the smartest woman I know. If you don't know about aliens, who else would. Marie clams up, and her expression softens. "Friends of mine. Never mind, at least I know now. But first, we need to get in contact with them. President Salvador will want to know about this, and we'll need to gather the World Government together to oversee our first transmission to them. Do they know we've discovered them. We're not sure, Ambassador Becker. A brown-haired young woman sitting at a nearby comm table pipes up hesitantly. "They're located on the. ah. the far side of Mars. We only spotted them due to a discrepancy in an image taken by Voyager XIV. The image was ten years old by the time we noticed it. Ten years. Marie swallows audibly. "If they've been studying humanity for at least that long, perhaps they aren't hostile. Hard to say. Our leading scientist, Mr. Nielsen, managed to spot the reflective glare of their ship with this radio telescope. He was also the one who noticed the image's out-of-place blurring and spent the better part of five months searching for the object that caused it. Well, Mr. Nielson deserves praise, but we'll get to that later. Jason, I need you to go and contact the leaders of the China-Russia union, the presidents of the Eastern and Western halves of North America, and the High Elder of Korea, Kum Jing Onmi. I'll contact the others. You have political pull with the big dogs though, and you can. get there the fastest. The other Jason stands up quickly and cracks his neck. "Yeah, no problem. I'll head out now. He walks away, and Marie pauses to stare at the floor for several long seconds as an internal conflict rages that I can't perceive. When she raises her head, her attitude is decidedly more optimistic. "If the others didn't tell me about these aliens, they must have had a good reason. This is something I can overcome. Gyro flies in front of me and nods helpfully. "This day marked a significant change in human history. It helped put Miss Becker and yourself on the path to leading humanity. Of course, her brilliance would have contributed to making that possible eventually, but the acceleration enabled a smoother transition to her vision for an ideal society. I stroke my beard thoughtfully. "Her vision, huh? So she designed the society of today. Gyro stares at me blankly. "Of course, Master Hiro. My, your memory has deteriorated significantly, hasn't it? I wonder what caused this dramatic shift in your mental state. My eye stings again, and I stagger back and fall to my knees, but it passes again within seconds. "Jesus, what is up with this stinging pain lately? Every so often I get this migraine from hell. I am not certain. Would you like to view another memory. Uh, yeah, sure. Thanks for the concern about my well-being. Gyro doesn't answer, and I direct the memory molder to advance to the next relevant scene. Everything peels away, and I end up in a seat, staring past a group of decorated military generals on my side of the table, while a dozen bureaucrats sit on the other side, one of them being Chinese, another who looks German, and even a Russian. I have to assume they're important world leaders, though I don't recognize them. At the head of the table, a massive video screen is active with a bunch of diagrams and a blurry image of a spacecraft, while Marie paces in front of it. "So this is the best image we've got of that thing. The Chinese man stares at the screen skeptically. "Ambassador Becker, we're aware of your contributions to the end goal of world peace, and we know you are also a renowned scientist, but that image could be anything! We can't tell the population of Earth about this until it's confirmed! How are we going to manage riots and panics. Marie spins around and points at him with a smile on her face. "I'm glad you asked, President Ningu. A few years ago, I constructed a prototype spaceship that held the potential ability to travel at the speed of light. However, I was unable to get my hand on a fuel source powerful and stable enough to power the reactor for more than a minute without causing a catastrophic meltdown. If these aliens have been observing us for at least ten years, as I have hypothesized, then as long as we move quickly, we might be able to create a fuel source capable of powering my craft within the next year. Another man speaks up. "Of course, the Eastern Liberated States of North America are willing to offer our support in any way possible, especially given your contributions over the years, but your technology must be shared among all the world powers equally. No favoritism. Favoritism? I wouldn't dream of it. My goal is a unified government, and as much as I wanted it before, Mister Johannesburg, I cannot stress enough to you now how important it is that we put aside our petty differences. These aliens already possess space travel capabilities far exceeding our own. President Ningu raises his hand. "Assuming they are, in fact, aliens. They are. Marie doesn't let an inkling of doubt enter her voice. For a moment, I sense her directing hostility toward the Chinese President. It vanishes quickly, and she turns back to the board. "You all have to understand, during the Second World War, the nations who held the aerial advantage were likely going to win in any given battle situation. This is a far more dire event. If these aliens are hostile, we may not be able to survive. They likely have a massive technology lead over our planet, and they have observed us for a very long time. Our airwaves are primitive and easy to intercept. President Johannesburg sucks air through his teeth. "They know our strengths and weaknesses. Yes. You understand. Marie glances at me for a moment, and I see a look pass over her face that makes me think she's saying ugh, they finally get it. A mountain of a man shifts on my side of the table and stares warily over at President Johannesburg. "With all due respect, Ambassador Becker, while your intentions are beyond reproach, and your character is unbesmirched, I think many at this table would not agree with that opinion towards their political enemies here. I came to hear your opinion, and I value it almost more than my own. but after what Johannesburg did two decades ago, I could not see my country siding with his or agreeing to share any technology. I turn to examine the man who spoke. His name appears in my mind, as do other details rapidly. President Wallace T. Sherman, the leader of the Western side of the USA. I'm not sure of what happened exactly, but something like a civil war split the country in half, and now these presidents rule each half separately. There appears to be a lot of bad blood between them. Just by appearance though, I'd fear the massive bulldozer-looking Sherman over the typical generic politician that Johannesburg embodies. Indeed, he seems very untrustworthy. Marie looks irritated, but she fights desperately to hide it. "President Sherman, I don't care if Johannesburg dropped ten hyper-graviton bombs on the biggest cities in your half of the country. These aliens might possess technology that can wipe humanity itself off the face of the Earth. Set aside your bickering and focus on the issue at hand. She pauses for a moment to pull a strand of hair out of her eyes. "That being said, thank you for the compliments. Sherman crosses his arms and leans back in his chair, but he says nothing else. He doesn't look convinced, but I can see he doesn't want to cross Marie either. Watching this exchange, I have to wonder what Marie did that would allow her to garner such political support. For people to treat her word as gospel and immediately believe her, she must have done many spectacular things already. I wave my hand, and the scene pauses. "Let's go a little bit ahead, Gyro. Nothing happens. "Gyro. He suddenly appears by my side, startling me a little. "My apologies, Master Hiro. I was performing a standard integrity check of the backup and restoration subroutines. No notable anomalies were detected. What memories would you like to visit next. I scratch my chin. "Can I just fast forward until I see something interesting. He stares at me in response. "Yes, I will give you manual control. Of course, anything that is available only to Root Admins will not be viewable, but I'm sure you will understand. Yeah. certainly. By the way, just out of curiosity, if Marie is the root admin, can she view all of my memories. Of course, Master Hiro. But I can't view over a quarter of hers. Naturally. You are not a Root Admin. Yeah. that's not suspicious at all. What the hell is Marie hiding from me? Why would the other Jason be such a loser that he would let her have access to his memories, but wouldn't demand reciprocation? Maybe I should be looking at their personal interactions to find out. An array of buttons appears before me in midair. One of them is a fast-forward button, as my memories tell me, so I tap it and watch as time accelerates dramatically, by a factor of thirty. Minutes fly by, then hours, and soon the next day arrives. I stop when Marie comes into view. She and the other Jason are having a conversation about something, and since this is the day after the conference with the world leaders, it must be worth listening to. such idiots! I am trying to create the perfect society that rewards everyone equally, and look at what they do! All these men do is whine, bitch, moan, and complain! They're so busy stabbing each other in the back that they can't see the bigger picture. Marie's frustration lingers in the air as she stomps back and forth, waving a cigarette around. The wind whistles past on the apartment balcony, and the previous Jason doesn't look amused. He's sitting in a white plastic chair, something cheap looking that doesn't seem like he or she would own it. "Marie, you're going about this all the wrong way. You can't expect people just to work together, that's not how we operate. If you're going to reshape society, it needs to be a meritocracy. Get these worthless slugs out of the way, and we can focus on putting the right people in charge. Well, who are the right people, Jason? Do you know? One human's as useless as another, and they're all stupid and weak! It doesn't matter whether a slug or a turtle is trying to compete in the race for intellect, as they'll both lose to me, the hare. He rolls his eyes. "You're so full of yourself sometimes. Look, all we have to do is turn public opinion against these guys and get some other people in control. They don't have to be exceptionally smart, though that would be nice. Just get someone in charge of China and another couple of people in charge of the Divided States of America, and make sure they'll follow your commands without hesitation. Someone is pulling Johannesburg's strings, so he can never be fully committed to your cause. Marie pauses to inhale deeply on her cigarette. "Have you always been this way? I thought I was the apathetic one. I'm just being real, Marie. These aliens are a threat unlike any other. I can't create technology to counter them without being able to perfectly envision how it works in my mind. Our best bet is to take control of this warship of theirs and hope you can reverse engineer it. Hope? Not necessary. This is me we're talking about. Marie waggles her finger at him. "Also, we don't know it's a warship. It could be a scouting ship. We don't even know what its travel speed capabilities are. These aliens might be all alone and halfway across the galaxy from their comrades, or their home world might be a few light years away, and a full-scale invasion could arrive and wipe us out in a few days. Could, might, possibly. that's an awful lot of speculation for the world's greatest scientist, Marie. Shit, this isn't even the full extent of our worries. A lot of world leaders are feeling anxious because of the demon attacks in Francistan. Nobody knows about the angels and gods yet, aside from Johannesburg, and only the wind knows whether he'll keep that information to himself or not. President Sherman doesn't even know what made Johannesburg go to such lengths to split the country. Right, right. Marie flicks the cigarette off the balcony and several stories to the streets below. "These things don't matter. In the worst case scenario, humanity has the most powerful hero ever on their side, so the demons will never be a serious threat. Our capabilities for war expand more and more every year, to the point where I'd even assume we could wipe them out in a week, if desired. He immediately leans forward and punches his palm. "Hell yes, that's what I'm talking about. Just say the word, and I'll tear them to pieces. A look of alarm spreads over Marie's face, and she quickly flits over to where he's sitting and leans against him. "No no, we don't want that, Jason. The most dangerous weapon is one you never have to use. Just the implied threat of it is enough to scare your enemies away. Once you use it, it loses its ability to pacify others into submission. The demons have had a taste of your power once, and they won't soon forget it. If you allow them to quantify and measure your power, they will find out its weaknesses. Jason lowers his head. "What weaknesses, Marie? I can make anything into reality with a single word. How could that be countered. He reaches up to stroke his thin beard. Shave. It vanishes instantly, and his face becomes smooth as baby skin. I can't help but feel a little jealous. I hadn't thought of doing that yet. "Keep the facial hair. I. like it. Marie pulls away and winks at him, though he doesn't reciprocate. Neither do I. Marie isn't bad looking or anything, but she doesn't appeal to me, and I can't put my finger on why. "Fine. Grow. The hair reappears, and he smirks. "Seriously though, Marie. I don't have many weaknesses. You have plenty. Your wordsmithing can be prevented with something as simple as a mouth gag. Your tongue could be cut out. And. there's also. She pauses to look up at the blue sky, now darkening as clouds approach. s always anti-energy. What's that. An invention I made to counter the demons, and the angels too, if need be. However, due to the nature of your powers, it's also a hard counter to you. Marie spends several minutes explaining new weaponry that can paralyze and even kill anything with large amounts of spiritual energy, and then something clicks in my mind as I pause the memory. "Gyro, Marie mentioned anti-energy. Do those Golden Commandos have the ability to emit this energy around their suits. He doesn't appear. I wait several seconds, then press a button to return to the 'main menu. Everything melts away and I'm back in the white room again. "Gyro? Where are you, mister butler. Still nothing. I start to feel a little weird. He's been acting a little off for the last few time skips. A sudden screeching pain in my head makes me stumble to my knees, and I scream in pain. "Graugh. When I open my eyes, the pain is gone, but I blink and yelp in surprise. There's a massive black dragon standing on its four hind legs, with both wings outstretched. "Jason. You need to leave this place. I've been trying to contact you for three hours now. The dragon speaks normally, as if it knows me. I have never seen anything of its size before. At least a hundred feet from the tip of its nose to the end of its tail, and the wings stretch out another hundred feet on each side of its body. This dragon towers over me, and makes me feel like an ant. I lick my lips and take a step back. "W-what are you. It widens ones of its eyes questioningly. "I am Blaarjiim, the one you bonded with. Let us not waste time on unnecessary introductions. The one named Benjamin Brown is tampering with your mind. He has been trying to insert new memories into your head in order to alter the way you think. Blaarjiim? But, you're a big goddamn dragon. Now Blaarjiim leans down and brings his head close to look at me carefully. His giant mouth has enough teeth in it to chew me to bits in seconds, and I'm sure a much fatter version of myself would fit inside without much trouble. "What are you babbling about, human? Has the other human one already gotten to you? Are you hallucinating? I have been going out of my way to block his attempts, but I can't stop him forever. I shake my head at him. "No, I'm definitely looking at a giant black dragon. Maybe you're the one hallucinating here. He waves a massive claw in the air dismissively. "Again, these are unimportant details. Now that I've finally made contact, I can release you. You need to break free and confront him before he puts an end to your psyche. My head suddenly rips with pain once again, and I bite my lip to stifle a yelp, and it quickly passes. "So that's what's going on. Fine, get me out of here. By force, if necessary. As you wish. The dragon rears his massive claw back, and my heart stops as it comes swinging at me. The instant it hits me I gasp and breathe out loud. The terror from that massive dragon taking a swing at me gives me flashbacks of Sarah's demon dog, and when I open my eyes, I realize I'm back in the laboratory, with that weird helmet thing still strapped to my head. Ben's voice speaks, alarm audible in his voice. "Oh! You're all done, then. I reach up and pull the helmet off, setting it on the designated holder beside me before turning to look at him calmly. "Yes. I am done. His face is pale, and sweat is visible. "Do you. feel any different. No. Should I. The nervousness on his face makes me want to bust a gut. Blaarjiim was right. Ben must have been trying to change my brain's physiology or something, and it would have taken a while longer to complete. He didn't expect me to break free from its control. I stand up from the chair and crick my neck, feeling three hours of motionless sitting take its toll on me. "You tried to alter my brain chemistry, didn't you? Not very smart, for Marie's most loyal assistant. The sweat on his face drips down as he stands in front of a control panel, stiffly watching me with caution in his eyes. "N-no, you've got it all wrong. I was just. trying to download the previous Jason's memories into your mind. Things would be more efficient that way. He's lying. Blaarjiim's voice speaks in my mind. He was attempting to erase your memories and replace them entirely with the weak-willed Jason's. He was trying to transform you into the one you defeated. My hands clench into fists reflexively. "Is that so. Ben appears to think I'm responding to him. "Yes, I'm not lying! If I were to download the memories into your mind, you could access them more rapidly! It would make the memory molding much fas- I don't let him finish speaking. Die. The word leaves my mouth and I smile, but nothing happens. Ben stares at me, his face still pale. "Did. did you just try to wordsmith and kill me. I don't get a chance to respond. His fingers fly across the display, and a second later, a horrifying feeling surges inside my body as an invisible wave of energy slams me down to the ground. I lose all strength in my body and wheeze painfully, but soon I can't feel anything at all, and merely have to lie on the ground, motionless. He sighs dramatically. "The former Jason was trustworthy, but you're not like him at all. Miss Becker doesn't see the danger in you, only the potential. She's grown too lax, too willing to forgive. Anything for her greatest pet project. But I won't let you hurt the woman I love. He taps his chest. "I activated a personal anti-energy field, just in case you tried anything. As I thought, you immediately went on the offensive. You were unwilling to listen to reason. I'm sure she will understand, in time. He walks around the panel and over toward me, and all I can do is watch his steel-toed boots draw closer. I put all my strength into moving my mouth, but my words are slurred. "You peash of shit. What are you gonna do with me. He kneels down and lifts me up, then shoves me back into the chair before grabbing the helmet again. "I'm going to finish what I started. I won't let you destroy this perfect society that Marie and your predecessor built. I'll turn you into him, and everything will go back to the way it was. He slaps the helmet on me and walks back to the panel, then smirks as he looks at me. "I hope this hurts a lot. I glare furiously at him. When I get this fucking helmet off, you'll be lucky if I just leave you in pain. Everything hurts. My arms have been chained in front of me tightly for so long, and no matter how I struggled at first, I couldn't rip these chains apart. But, I get it, now. The chain binding one of my arms loops around behind the metal slab they have me tied to, and holds the other one. If I pull, I'm just yanking myself around. How long have I been here? This metal mask on my face makes me feel woozy. I can barely breathe, and I haven't eaten anything since the warden put me in this room. It's pitch black inside, only becoming a little brighter when the door opens every so often. Usually it's a male prisoner, sent in to clean up after me. The tubes going into my stomach gives me food directly, and so I can only do as Scullis commanded, and release all over myself periodically. Luckily, none of the men have had an interest in me. All of them have been disgusted, but I still feel fearful. What if they take advantage of me as I am? I could crush them instantly under normal circumstances. but bound like this; I couldn't do a thing. I'm starting to hear voices. People whispering in my ear. They say so many scary things. Twelve jackals ate the hat, but what makes the world spin? I'm going crazy. I need to get out of here! But I can't. How long has it been? A day? A month? I can't tell anymore. My body screams in pain again as the fire enters me. I have to fight the pain for a few minutes before it washes away, but the feeling leaves me drenched in sweat. I smell like death. I want to die. I don't want to be here anymore. Scullis ordered a man to stick another tube into my body, this one just above my heart. 'Lava Blood' she called it. At random times, a machine pumps this awful stuff into my heart, and it spreads all throughout my body in seconds, making me feel like I'm being boiled alive. I swear, too, it feels worse every time than the time before. I just want to die. How could one woman be so cruel to another? She reminds me of Danis, and how he loved to inflict pain on others. It was all to assert his dominance over his victims. At least, that's what Master told me. Those who attack the weak are afraid to stand up to the strong. I thought I was strong. but if I'm chained up and unable to escape, and this weak woman can hurt me in ways I never thought possible, then perhaps I'm just as weak as I ever was. Why hasn't master come? Hasn't it been a year? He must have given up on me. Who could blame him, since I couldn't even escape this place on my own? He was right to be ashamed of me. A sound at the door makes my body flinch involuntarily. Oh no. no no no. it's Scullis. She's come to hurt me again. Is she going to stab me over and over as she did two years ago? She laughed as she talked about my regenerative abilities. The ability for her to hurt me and the wounds to heal up without a mark meant she could hurt me as much as she pleased and I wouldn't die from it. I raise my head up, and the blinding light from the doorway stuns me again. A long haired woman steps in, and I feel my knees shaking. Who is she? I can barely see her face through the eye-slits in the mask, but she isn't Warden Scullis. Someone worse? Did Scullis tire of torturing me, so she sent in another person? You are. Lora. The woman's soft voice is filled with fear as she stares at my nude body. I quickly nod my head, not wanting to displease her. I don't want to be hurt anymore. She doesn't stand there a moment longer. She steps out of the doorway and yells at someone standing just outside. "Warden Scullis! What the hell is the meaning of this? Is this how we treat prisoners in this day and age? This is barbaric. Scullis speaks up, but for once, her voice is shaky and uncertain. "S-she is a murderer, Corporal Gutierrez. She killed fifteen guards. This was the only way to control her. She is unthinkably strong, possibly as strong as your Golden Commandos, but without wearing a Hypersuit. What would you have me do. The woman, Corporal Gutierrez' seethes and shakes her fist at the woman. "I will speak with this prisoner privately! Give me a light source, and shut this door! You will stand outside and wait. I can see a little bit of Warden Scullis's face as she nods vigorously. "Y-yes, of course, ma'am. I'll- I'll have a guard fetch a torch at once. The younger woman twists away from Scullis violently and strides into the cell, eying me up and down. "And what is going on with this mask? Get it off at once! I can't speak with a prisoner who can't respond. Scullis turns and looks into the doorway, glaring daggers at Gutierrez's back, but her voice is smooth like honey. "Of course, but I cannot guarantee your safety, Corporal. Do it. Scullis winces and walks away, leaving the Corporal and me alone. She's wearing a uniform similar to the ones I saw all over Master's tower where he worked, but hers is purple and has a whole bunch of metal decorations and stuff everywhere. I get the feeling just from looking at her that she's an important woman. Her beautiful blonde hair reminds me of Master, as do her soft blue eyes. She looks. pleasant. "Lora. I'm a friend. Have they been hurting you. Her voice is soft now, and she looks at me with pity in her eyes, as if she can feel the pain I've been through. I can't control myself, and a moment later tears well up and roll down the mask as I make choked sobs. "It's okay. it's okay. I'll get you down from there. Listen, you shouldn't be in here. I represent a very powerful man, and he needs your help. If you agree to come with me, I'll take you away from this place, and you won't be hurt again. However, if you shake your head no, I'll have to leave you here. Do you understand. Huh? S-she wants me to help her? Of course! Master must have sent her! He's powerful, and she represents him. Master is a busy man, so of course he couldn't have come here. He sent her to get me out. I nod tearfully at her, and she smiles sweetly back at me. "Oh, good. Just give me a minute and I'll- Scullis appears in the doorway, a key in her hand as well as a rectangular gadget of some sort. "Here's the key to her iron mask, and the unlocker for those chains. Amy swipes them away forcefully and shoves Scullis outside. "You stand there until I'm finished. After slamming the massive door shut, the Corporal presses a button on the rectangle metal thing, and a bright light comes out, lighting up the room, then she turns back to me and reaches around to undo my mask. "I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Amy Gutierrez, leader of the Golden Commandos. As she undoes the helmet and starts to pull the awful thing off, she whispers softly. "Well, former. But Scullis doesn't need to know that, right. She tosses the mask to the side and winks at me, but I don't know what she means. Still, I force a smile, if only so she can feel secure. I would do anything for this loving human. the one who saved me. "Me. Lora. My voice is hoarse and weak, and my mouth is dry as dirt. I can barely speak at all, but Amy seems surprised. "Oh! I didn't know you could talk! Everything I've seen about you said you were mute! That will make things much easier. She undoes the bindings on my legs, then the ones on my wrists, and suddenly the things holding my exhausted body up are gone, leaving me to stumble forward, unable to feel anything at all. She catches me, showing a surprising strength. "Whoa, easy there, Lora. Just take a minute and let your body stretch naturally. She glances down at my legs, stained many disgusting colors, and frowns. "Saint Joseph, this is worse than I thought. I can't believe she would. do this to you. I smile weakly at Amy as I try to pull myself up. "She very bad. Yeah, she is. Amy helps me lean against a wall, then pulls her jacket off. "Here, put this on. I can't parade a naked woman through a prison full of men. It's asking for trouble. Can't do anything about the lower half, unfortunately. The jacket is about my size, just as Amy is the same height as me. If it weren't for my mangled, disgusting red hair, we could be sisters! My smile widens as a feeling of awe spreads over me. I didn't think people could be this wonderful to each other. She truly is a saint. After I tear the tubes from my body, Amy knocks on the door, and Scullis pushes it open, forcing her scowl to vanish as she looks at me, and then she replaces it with a false smile, possibly to try not to piss the corporal off. "Miss Gutierrez, if there is anything I can get for you, just say the word. Amy stares at Scullis for a couple of agonizing seconds before smiling cheerfully back. "Actually, there is! I want your pants. Scullis's smile melts away. "I. I beg your pardon. You're about the same size. You will give Lora your pants. Scullis stands up straight and crosses her arms. "I have been doing as you say, but I draw the line here. If I were to walk around without pants, order in this prison would. It would be perfectly fine, Scullis. Either you give me your pants, or I report you to the Prison Administration and the Council of Three for human rights violations. The warden blanches. "Y-you wouldn't. Try me. To my surprise, the Warden backs down meekly. "Yes, ma'am. I understand. S-so sorry to question you. That's what I thought. Still, Scullis glares at me as she gracefully drops her pants and hands them over. "Are you going to make her wear these pants while feces run down her legs. Don't worry, Scullis. You won't be getting them back anyway. I pull away from Amy's shoulder and find I'm able to stand on my own for once. I pull the pants on, blushing as I look at the stains on my legs. To force a human to fester in their own filth like this is abominable, worse than the demons, if you ask me. With pants and my jacket on, the three of us women and four guards behind us walk slowly down the hall, and I spot the electrified bars up ahead where my cell used to be. A horrific realization spreads through me. For once, a question appears that is more pressing than my fear of the Warden. "Cellmate. she. where is she. Scullis doesn't lose stride as we walk past the empty cell. "Oh, that girl? The other troublemaker? She didn't make it, I'm afraid. The casual way she says this makes my fear melt away, and a savage anger takes hold instead. Scullis. she allowed that girl to be killed? This. horrible. awful. vile woman. I can't believe this! Am I supposed to ignore the death of my friend? Scullis turns her head back slightly, and I spot a wicked smile on her face, though at this angle Amy can't possibly see it. "Really, I'm so sorry about that girl. But she was a murderer, you know. These things happen in prison. What's this about. Amy looks at me questioningly, but I can barely even think. I've never been so angry in my entire life. This. this reminds me of when. Master killed. Master killed someone? Someone I loved. who? Who was it? Why am I thinking of this now? We walk past the gate that leads into the facility and Scullis pauses to let us walk past. "Have a pleasant day, Corporal. I trust this has resolved the matters we spoke about. Amy glares at the Warden "Yes. I won't report you, don't worry. Enjoy running this facility of barbarism. I pray I never have to enter here again. The feeling is mutual. Amy and I continue walking, and in the distance, I spot a spaceship, small, maybe with room for five people to stay aboard. She sighs loudly. "By the gods, I was lucky. If they had done one simple check, they would have seen I'm no longer the Corporal of the Golden Commandos. This could have turned out very poor- I finally stop and fall to the ground, the weakness in my body and the grief from my cellmates death overtaking me. "Gaaaah. Amy turns to look at me in alarm. "Lora? What's wrong? Are you alright. I feel her arm on my back, and her hand is shaking. "I'm sorry they put you through that. It was awful. I fought against just this kind of corruption ever since I first found out, but I can't stop it everywhere. I shake my head and try futilely to wipe the torrent of tears away. "No! My friend. they kill her! They hurt her bad, then they kill her. Not fair. Them evil. She innocent. When I look up into Amy's eyes, she looks away and I can see tears in her eyes as well. "I didn't realize. so that's what Scullis was talking about. The prisoner who died, she was your friend. I'm sorry, truly, I am. She pets my head soothingly and pulls my face to her chest. "Listen, when we get back, we'll go to Heaven, okay? Maybe we can find your friend there. When people die, they are reborn as angels, you see? She must be there. I nod quickly and feel my tears slow. "Okay. We find her. But. not know her name. A feeling of dismay enters my mind. I didn't even know her name. I never asked her what it was, and now I'll never be able to find her again. "Don't worry! I'll have my powerful friend look up the prisoner manifests! No problem. Master. of course! Master can find her, he can find anyone! He sent Amy to find me, so if he can do that, he can find my cellmate too! Just then, the sound of boots come stomping toward us from behind, I turn around to see a hundred men with rifles aimed at Amy and me. Scullis steps forward, now wearing pants. "Oh dear, Corporal Gutierrez, it appears you've deceived me. Your rank was stripped and you were kicked out of the military for disobeying orders. Why don't you come along with me and. answer some questions. She smiles at me cutely. "Ah, and you and I can get back to business. Doesn't that sound pleasant. I feel my body start to shake with paralyzing fear, but a hand touches mine, and Amy leans in to whisper in my ear. "Don't be afraid; I expected this. If you can buy me three minutes, we can get out of here. Can you hold them off while I run for the ship. Hold them off? She wants me to do that? I turn from Amy's sweet face to the face of my tormentor, and my fist clenches together like solid iron. Hold them off? I won't let a single one leave alive. My glare hardens on Scullis, most of all. You will die last. Oh shit guys, just a heads up, this is the LONGEST PART OF ALL TIME! WHOA! Ramming that 40k character cap holy shit! Hope you enjoyed! P. Every year I look forward to saving heaps of money during the week of Black Friday. Sure a lot of the sales are usually on stock that stores can't move, but sometimes you can find a gem of a deal. The problem is when one of these gems comes your way, it also comes many other peoples way too, meaning you have to be fast. Something that's getting harder and harder each year as people get more ways of getting to these deals at an inhuman pace. What a lot of people do nowadays is download those Black Friday sales apps, or browse special sale sites constantly to snipe these deals. I even tried them myself one year, though to little success. This is because it seems only big companies are featured on these apps, probably because they pay them to include them, or even worse, pay them to not include smaller companies. And since everyone has the app, everyone has the alert when a great deal comes up. Because of this, I set out to make my own app, just for myself. My objective was clear. Make an app that filters Black Friday sales, but on all sites, big and small. This way when a good deal comes up from a smaller site, I would have first pick. And let me tell you, this worked great. It felt like walking in a store with great sales, and no rushing crowd ready to mace you for getting to the on sale TVs before them. I could meander on these sites and price check to see if it really was a good deal, and buy them in my own time. The layout of the app was simple too. It featured a product image, sourced from the products page. The rest was simple black text on a white background of a clickable link of the product name, a bit taken from the product description, the original price, and the price it was at during the sale. I was so proud I started to show my friends. Which of course, got them interested immediately. Turns out my plight of getting pushed out of sales by sale snipers was a common issue. Some asked why I never added it to the app store to turn a quick profit. It was simple. If I published it, the same problem would happen on a much larger scale. I liked the idea of having first pick of things over making money and having nothing to spend it on. It turns out my friends asked because they wanted it for themselves, so they then proceeded to practically beg to have a copy of the app, even offering me money. After much deliberation, I warmed to the idea of sharing it, though keeping it to a select few so that it never got saturated. These friends obviously started running their mouths, and soon I had their friends asking, and then their friends asking. Soon a few dozen people had a copy of the app. But after a while, I took a strong stance, and stopped there, to the dismay of some people when individuals I never gave the app to complained they couldn't get it working. This was because I actually had the whole thing running through a white-list system, so all I did was ask who gave it to them, and removed access to whoever was trying to give it away or sell it. Simple. I was not in the mood to deal with friends that were a leaky hole on my tightly kept ship For the first few days of the week of Black Friday sales, everything was working fine. However, the closer Friday came, I started to notice some weird things pop up. Even my friends reported it too. There were ads for women. The product description was vague, often mentioning their ages, location and other personal details. At first I thought it was an ad, until I quickly remembered that I made the app, and I never added space, nor coded for ads to appear. I then thought it was a virus, or malware, or something. But when I gave the app's code a quick scan, nothing was out of place. On paper, they were legitimate sales on some obscure website. Obviously using the Black Friday sales tag which was why it was caught on the app. Rather than complicating the code, and potentially ruining the algorithm, I just told my friends to not click on them, and to ignore it. Personally, I trusted myself to not fall for what obviously looked like a scam. They looked like they were the pages those 'Meet local singles' porn ads redirected to that only old people fell for. Sadly, I couldn't say the same for my friends. It didn't take long for one of my more dull friends to send me vague messages. Those 'what if' questions about someone 'accidentally' clicking one of those ads, and what would happen if they so happened to pay for one. I quickly got frustrated at how roundabout the conversation was moving, so I said I'd just come over and get him to tell me in person, since he seemed skittish to talk in messages. I headed over and not long was let in and offered a hot drink. He ended up quickly confessing to something which made me mad. He said he was doing something he did around this time. He bought a bunch of prepaid cards throughout the year, and when they were nearly drained, he'd use them on sale items. Just after they were sent, he'd cancel the card and get the item for free. He said that he used to work in retail places, and when he did, if the person knew what they were doing, which he claimed he did, the cost of recovering a 20 item often cost more than the value of the item itself. Plus since company staff were overworked due to the sales, it was easy to get away with since companies often cut their loses at that point. This was all well and good for normal Black Friday app sales. However I quickly reminded him that the reason he was able to find these sales was because they often featured smaller companies that do care about this stuff. And worse, because the app was ran on my computer, all the traffic was send and received from my IP at home. This meant it possibly looked like it was me. So not only did he have a higher chance of legal trouble, but to save my ass, I'd have to dog in a friend. I berated him on his stupidity, but he just took it. Something a bit out of character for him. This made me perk up. Usually he was the type of guy to argue until his face was blue, even if he was fervently proven wrong. This often reinforced that he was a more simple minded friend. Often great to hang out with, but not good to talk about things he felt he was an expert on. If you know the kind. He went on to say there was more. I calmed down, and decided to hear him out. He explained that he was alone, and curious. In his words, he said he was shopping during the 'sending random girls on Instagram and Snapchat dick pics' hour of the morning. Not wanting to even pick apart how many disgusting parts of that sentence bothered me, I sat silently and let him continue. Well he saw one of those ads for a girl. This one was a more modest price compared to the rest. The others usually sitting above 100. The girl he found was only 24. 99. I never paid the ads much mind, so he told me that the expensive ones were often model level attractiveness. However the cheaper one was a more normal, average looking girl. “Not too attractive, not too unattractive”, in his words. In my head I started to theories that this could be an 'escort' service. When he clicked on the site, something I fervently messaged people not to do, he said there were more tiers of payments. The first was the one on sale for 24. 99, simply titled 'Video. The next one up was for 150, labelled 'Request. Then 500, labelled 'prize. And finally for 2, 000, a tier titled 'The Full Package. Out of horny curiosity, he sent the payment, and waited. I expected him to say his card was immediately drained before he could cancel it, and was ready to hand him a few 'I told you so's, followed by a side of 'serves you right. But what he went on to explain was much worse. It turns out he managed to cancel the card just as the product was sent. I leaned in, curious as to what he meant by 'product. He then pulled out his phone to show me what he got. When he handed me his phone, there was a video playing in a layout I didn't recognize. Which to me, it looked like they had a custom video player. It featured the girl from the ad, in underwear, sitting on a chair in a dingily lit room. Two men either side wearing masks. It looked like the start of a porno you could only find on the back pages of the most grimiest sites. As I was about to hand it back to him and tell him I didn't want to see more, he urged me to watch it through. Hesitant I continued. The two men proceeded to pull out hammers, which was a big surprise to me, and started wailing on her. I immediately turned away, hit by a huge wave of shock. The sound of mushing flesh still blaring as I winced. This was not what I was expecting at all. However my friend coached me through, saying every detail was important. So for him I hesitantly decided to carried on. There were times I saw what happened, others I was looking away and only heard in gory detail. The audio was crisp. You could tell they wanted to give their customers the best of quality. It was disturbing in itself how high definition the whole ordeal was. However it wasn't over yet. They went on to pull out a knife, and lightly cut her over and over. Each slice wasn't enough to maim, but was enough to draw blood. While they were doing this, one of the guys announced that this section was for the blade lovers. Which to me meant they had a variety of customers that watched this. Which was something I didn't want to know about the world. When they were done, the screaming woman was a bloody pulpy mess. She was haggard from panicking so much. And you could tell she was in a great deal of pain. I wanted it to be over, but the video continued, despite my silent protests. After the two men showed her off in detail, one of them started talking. He spoke about going through their requests. This was all announced with enthusiasm, like it was a fun show. They read out request one. Eye. They pulled out a kebab skewer and poked out her right eye. The pop sound was caught in disturbing detail, and was clear, even through my friends terrible phone speakers. I gagged at the sound. It was then masked by the desperate wailing of the victim. When she fell silent once more, trying to catch her breath, he then read out the next request. Toes. They laughed and said they usually don't like when requests were pluralized, as normally they saved a bit for every customer. But as there weren't many customers for her, they'd make an exception. As he said this, the other guy pulled out a large set of garden sheers and trimmed the smaller toes on the left foot. You could hear them drop in sequence to the hard floor, like an impatient teacher drumming their fingers on a desk. My breathing felt heavy as I tried to keep everything in. In a mocking way the announcer mentioned how the first person must feel left out at the extras given to the second requester. So he went back and popped the other eye in order to, in his words, make it fair. I felt so bad for her. This girl who did nothing wrong. Having her life stripped away from her piece by piece. At intervals, my friend kept urging me that it was very important I saw it all. Though I still couldn't piece together why. Then they announced they were moving on to 'prizes. The announcer flipped over the page and read out 'hand, any. So they took the same sheers from before, and after butchering away at her left wrist, her left hand dropped to the floor in a wet thud. It was picked up and dropped in a Ziploc bag, followed by them saying it would be sent as soon as possible. I was mortified at the implication, and wanted nothing more than to either stop watching, or for it to end. I have never seriously wished death upon anyone, but for her sake, I hoped under my breath that it came quickly for her. Not out of malice, but of sympathy, and mercy. Finally they announced the last tier, The Full Package. They dragged her away, saying she would be sent to the cheapo who wanted to have the rest of this low quality product. Then the video ended. I was shook as I took everything in. All the emotions that built up swimming around in my head like a torrent. Different faces of the emotional spectrum surfacing as I processed each one. The forefront of these burst out as I exploded on my friend. I demanded why I had to watch through it. To me, there was nothing of importance that I needed to see. I could have gone my whole life knowing that this never existed in the first place. He was meek throughout my tantrum. When he didn't falter, I knew, despite my inner protests, that there was going to be more. He silently took his phone back and started tapping away. While he did so, he went on to mention that he checked the website afterwards, to know for sure it wasn't just some messed up surreal nightmare he had in the late of night. When he found the site was in fact real, he gave it a quick once over and noticed something announced on the front page. That there was going to be a special made on a person who tried to skimp out on payments. My heart dropped. I started to piece together why he showed me all of this. He was worried beyond everything that this was going to happen to him. Maybe worse. I felt he was trying to show me that these guys were not amateurs, and that they knew what they were doing. I was already trying to put together reasons why he shouldn't worry. He used a prepaid card with no ID, so they might not be able to actually trace him. Maybe they're from another country where it was easier to get away with his kind of thing, and if he stayed here, he'd be fine. When he held his phone up to my face, my eyes widened at the real reason he was showing it me everything. It was a warning. The product page showed a clear photo, taken at a distance, of me. As I stared, it came back to me, that all the traffic redirected from my IP.

I'd play them for my stream and my YouTube channel, but outside of that, I wasn't too interested. I can safely say, I am now not a horror game fan. You would think it was because all those big YouTubers beat them into the ground, but no, it was because I lived one. Like, for real. Don't get me wrong, I'll admit I still do watch other people play horror games and yes I find amusement in them, but now it's because I know what they experience will never be the same as to what I did. I don't really care if anyone believes me or not, but it happened (last year on this day. Which is why I thought, might as well share it on the anniversary of the incident. It's a long story, so I'll have to break this into different parts, but for now here's the beginning. I'll see if I can find the time to continue, so I'll update this when I can. Tutorial "I fucking swear, if this relies on cheap jump-scares I'm not playing. Stop being such a baby. What? I don't even know why I'm playing this with you guys anyway. Because the viewers specifically asked you to join us for the stream. Tell them I hate them. Hear that viewers? Archie hates you guys. I was joking, I don't hate you guys. Please don't hate me. They aren't gonna hate you dude, they love you! Anyway, just give me one more second, it's almost done downloading. Tapping my keyboard impatiently, I scanned the Twitch chat as I waited for the game to finish. happy halloween everyone! pickle juice pickle juice archie is gonna be shitting bricks lmao pickle juice tell May she needs to turn up her mic! pickle juice why tf does the chat keep spamming pickle juice? someone tell May we can't hear her! hi everyone pickle juice can may check her microphone? we cant hear her Archie we don't hate you! pickle juice Turning back to the download screen, I gave a sigh of relief. "Okay, I'm loading it up now. Chat, no spoilers. Fucking finally, it's been like, 20 minutes since we started. May complained. "Well excuse you, sorry my internet is slow as shit. Whatever, the chat has been keeping me entertained. Speaking of which, they're telling you to fix your mic, they can't hear you. Oh, my bad guys, just one second. I adjusted my headphones as the menu for Dark Woods loaded up. To be honest, reading the description of the game made me think it was gonna be cheesy as hell. It was an indie game, which meant it was either gonna be a total snooze fest or scary as fuck, and considering the story was a cliche "Group of friends get stuck in a haunted house" game, I was thinking it was gonna be bad. And even though it had the perk of being multiplayer, that probably meant it would be glitchy as hell. It would probably be entertaining as fuck though, which is why May had chosen it as the first game we played. "Is the menu supposed to be spazzing out or is it just me. Archie questioned. "Fine on my end. I replied. "Define spazzing. I don't know, it stopped. Whatever, let's just start. I'm creating a multiplayer save, the code to get in is 5847581. Found it. So Quinn, tell the viewers what we're playing. May advised. "Oh, right. I gave a small wave at my webcam. "Hello everyone, for those that are just tuning in, my name is Quinn, and joining me are May and Archie. Say hi guys. Yo. Hey. They usually join my streams so, if you enjoy us, be sure to give us a follow on here! Also, sorry that I'm the only one with a webcam, you guys will be stuck with my face for now. Anyway, we are about to play a game called Dark Woods, the first of many horror games in the line-up for this special Halloween stream. The premise of the game is basically, us three will be trying to. Let's just start already. Okay fine, you'll see as you watch. I'm hitting start guys, ready. Ready. No. The screen faded to black and a cutscene began. It started with a group of young adults hiking through the woods, talking about the backstory of the house they were going to. Not paying attention, I checked the chat again. the graphics are so bad lol pickle juice I hope Archie ends up playing Gwen lmao pickle juice pickle juice take bets on who survives im gonna say may this is gonna be good I wish Archie and May had face cams, their reaction to the painting will be fucking hilarious pickle juice agreed with whoever said archie should pick gwen this is already boring they should have played something else "Archie, the chat is saying you should pick Gwen. I noted. "Who's that. Pay attention to the game idiot, she's in the purple coat. May, who are you gonna pick. Hmm. I kinda like the dude in the hat, since he said this was a bad idea and I agree, so I bet he lives. Should we let the chat decide. Works for me. Okay, chat, who should May play as. jeff may would totally fit jeff Carly Jefff whichever one lives Jeffry! Paige! isnt it ben who dies first? him carly yaaas pick jeff! carly pleaaase! Okay, I think the majority is saying Jeff. Jeff it is. What about you Archie? Should the chat decide who you play as. Hell no, they'll probably make me play the guy who dies first. Suit yourself. Alright guys, who should I play as. ben kyle Kyle! He's the best! kyle for sure carly omg play paige! choose kyle carley kyle jeff! pick paige! she lives! carly kyle! Okay guys, I'm picking Kyle. The cutscene had ended and a menu popped up with a selection of characters to play. Seeing as I was hosting, I chose first. May chose next, and last was Archie. "So Archie, why'd you pick Paige. I asked. "Because her bio said she's addicted to Twitter and I am too. Nice reason. Oh shut up, you only chose Jeff because he's hot. I didn't choose, the chat did. And they chose him because he's hot. Honestly, I'm surprised the chat didn't want May as the hot girl. Eww, Gwen? She sounded so bitchy in her bio. Whatever, let's just start the game. Hit play guys. I adjusted myself in my chair as "Player 2 is Ready" and "Player 3 is Ready" popped up. "Here we go, take bets on who survives. I hit play and the screen faded to black. "I swear if Paige ends up being one of the first to die. Archie muttered. I tapped my foot, waiting for the screen to go back to the game. After a moment of silence, I gave a confused look. "I think my game is lagging guys, it's still a black screen for me. Nope, mine is still black too. Turning to the chat I gave an apologetic smile. "Sorry guys, it's an indie game that's multiplayer, what can you expect. f f f rip f f lmao fail f "Does anyone else feel that. What. My body, it's vibrating. Wow, TMI Archie. No, I'm serious, something is happening to my body. Maybe it's the vibrator stuck up your- I paused, as I felt my hands begin to shake. Looking down, I could see my entire body trembling like I was on a bumpy road. "What the fuck. Guys, what the hell is happening. I heard May cry. "Okay, this is too weird, I'm gonna- It was like someone had punched me in the chest and knocked the wind out of me paired with falling. I gave a gasp of surprise as I felt the room around me warp, and I could feel my body falling. Letting out a yelp, what felt like an eternity ended in my body slamming into the ground. Coughing and gasping for breath, I clutched at the ground, feeling dead leaves enter my grasp. Dizzy and dragging myself to my feet, I blinked, looking around. I was met with an impossible view. A forest of autumn trees of orange, yellow, and browns, with a darkening sky and thunder in the distance. "What. The. Fuck. I blinked. What just happened. One second I was in my room, the next I was in a forest. How? I took a groggy step before almost falling. I was just about to start following the trail I was on when I noticed a body lying in front of me. Rushing over, I stared in shock as Archie's familiar face turned towards me. He gave a gasp and scrambled to his feet. "What the fuck? What the- where am I? What's happening. Dude I don't fucking know, one minute I'm in my room the next I'm here. Oh my fucking god. He put his hands on his head in stunned silence. "Fuck, my back. Both of us whipped our heads around to see May clawing her way up from the side of the dirt path we were on. "Holy fuck May! What the hell happened. Archie cried running over. "You tell me. She winced holding her head. "Did we all just experience the same thing. I inquired. "Clearly. My body was vibrating and suddenly I feel like I'm falling and find myself here. May retorted. "But where's here. Archie wondered. The three of us stood, looking around before our gazes fell on a large mansion looming ahead of us. "Um. Does that house look familiar or what. Archie squinted. "No way. May breathed. Taking a step forward, she did a 360. "No. Fucking. Way. What is it. I looked at the house seeing it looked familiar. "This is the house. The house from the game. What game. Dark Woods. The one we were just playing. No shit. She began walking towards it. "What the fuck? I am so confused. Archie mumbled. "That's impossible. I objected. "This can't be. Can it. Trust me, unlike you guys I was paying attention to the game. This is exactly like the house, it even has the exact gate pattern. Riiiight. Okay, so what are you saying. There was a pause, before she turned to us. "This sounds crazy as hell, but what if this is the game. Huh. You know, the game. Like we're in the game. Like the new Jumanji movie. Archie asked scratching his head. "Exactly. Impossible, literally impossible. I replied. "This is some kind of fucked up dream. You know as well as I do this isn't a dream. Maybe if we- The sound of thunder startled all three of us, and I felt drops of rain beginning to fall on my head. "Come on, we can take shelter inside the house. May beckoned. "Shouldn't we be running away if that's the case, like if we're in the game the house is where we die. Archie cautioned. "I read a bit about the game while we waited for Quinn to finish downloading. The woods is where it resides, hence the name Dark Woods. We're safer inside. This is so ridiculous. I laughed. "Is this really real? Am I tripping. May rolled her eyes and grabbed my arm, dragging me up the overgrown path to the porch, where she grabbed the handle of the door and swung it open. The three of us clambered inside, just as the rain turned into a torrent of heavy downpour. "We made it just in time, thank god. Maybe if we- May paused as our small party turned to see somewhat familiar faces staring back at us. "Who are you. A young woman with a blonde shoulder length hair asked. "No way. I breathed. "Paige. Archie gasped. "Uh, yeah. Who the hell are you guys. I turned to look at May with wide eyes. She turned back to the group who were already there and feigned a smile. "Uh, we were just um. Hiking and uh, the rain so, uh, we uh. I began. "We thought you guys wouldn't mind us staying. At least until the rain stops. May cut in. "Oh, well this isn't our house, so we don't mind at all. one of the men said. I recognized him as Ben. "What the fuck is going on. Archie whispered. "I told you, we're somehow in the game. May hissed back. "You guys can like, spend however long you need. one of the girls offered. "We're like, planning on staying the entire night. Apparently this place is like, totally haunted. Thanks. May flashed a smile. "So should we uh, should we do introductions. Ben asked. "Good idea. May turned to us and leaned in. "Do you guys remember who dies. I shook my head. "I'm Ben, nice to meet you. Ben had scruffy brown hair and wore a leather jacket. I vaguely remembering seeing some screenshots of the game where he was being confronted by the demon. This is Paige. Ben continued. "That's Gwen, Kyle, Carly, Chelsea, Mick, and Jeff. My eyes followed his finger to identify them. Gwen had long black hair, and was wearing a purple coat. Her scarf was wrapped around her neck so her mouth was hidden, but she gave a wave. Kyle had slicked blond hair and wore a brown jacket with a logo on it. Carly had dirty blonde hair in a bun and a glittery gold jacket with a crop top and jeans. Chelsea had curly brown hair with glasses, and wore overalls. Mick was dark skinned with red highlights in his curly hair, and wore a black hoodie. Jeff was the last of them, with black hair and slight stubble. Taking a quick mental note of what they looked like, I tried remembering if I saw who died. I had tried avoiding spoilers, but if I recalled I knew one of the guys and girls died almost right away. Turning to May, she gave a friendly nod before introducing us. "I'm May, this is Archie, and that's Quinn. Looking at us, we looked way out of place. I was wearing a pirate costume since I was the one that had been streaming, May wore a loose fitting beige shirt and sweatpants, and Archie was in a giraffe onesie. Both of them clearly hadn't been expecting to leave their houses. It reminded me of our excuse that we were hiking, but they didn't seem to notice or care. "Well make yourselves at home, we haven't explored anything yet, so why don't you join us. Ben smiled. "I don't think this is such a good idea. Chelsea whined. "We shouldn't even be here. Don't be such a pussy, we're only staying for a night. Carly snapped rolling her eyes. "If you're scared just stay here, I'm gonna explore. Ben shrugged. Mick and Carly immediately joined him. Chelsea gave a helpless look to the others, who didn't pay her any attention. "I'm gonna look around too, that's why we're here anyway. Gwen stated. "Besides, it's not like we have anything to worry about. Seconds after she said that, there was a loud crash and a lightning strike illuminated the darkened living room we were standing in. "What the hell was that. Kyle exclaimed. "The window. Paige gasped pointing. We all looked towards one of the windows, which was smashed completely through. A bit of rain and wind flowed in and we followed the trail of broken glass to a wet rock, lying on the ground. "Creepy. Ben muttered. "I told you this was a bad idea. Chelsea cried. "It was probably just a freak accident. Carly huffed. "We're fine. Someone or some thing threw that rock, no way that was a freak accident. Chelsea argued. "Guys relax, I'll check it out. Ben reassured. "Uh, I don't think that's a good idea. May interjected. "Chelsea is right, maybe there's something. Oh please, just because this place is supposedly haunted, doesn't mean it really is. Carly replied annoyed. "Yo man, quit arguin' and let's explore already. Mick cut in sensing the tension. "I'm just gonna check around outside. Ben nodded. "You guys can go ahead and explore. You're going by yourself. I asked, glancing at May and Archie. "Thaaaat's probably a bad idea. Like really bad. Archie subtly stepped in front of the door to block it. "I'll be fine, what's the big deal. Ben tried pushing past him but May joined in blocking his path. "Let's just be cautious okay, there could be. Crazy homeless people. Ben gave her a confused look. "I'm gonna investigate whether you want me to or not, it's no big deal. May rubbed her temples but didn't resist as Ben pushed past them and out the door. Beckoning us over, we huddled in a corner. "So I didn't read too much about the game because I wanted to avoid spoilers, but I know for a fact that some people always live. How is that possible with multiplayer. I asked. "I think it's basically one or two characters will always live 100% but the point is you don't know unless you've read spoilers or played before. That ruins any plans of replays. Archie commented. "It's an indie game, what do you expect. May responded. "Anyway, the point is, we need to find those people and stick with them like glue. That's a good plan, except if we're here, can't we change the direction of the story. Possibly, but if we do that, the person who is always guaranteed to survive might not survive. Good point. So you're assuming if we "beat" the game, we'll somehow end up back in the real world. Jumanji was like that, I don't see why this wouldn't be any different. Assuming this is like Jumanji. Let's act like it is so we don't end up dying because we think trying to survive is pointless. I admired May's tenacity, but part of me wondered if playing by the game was the correct way to survive. "So we can really die here. Archie shivered in his onesie, his blond hair was messy from the hood and he looked rightfully terrified. "I'm not taking the chances that we can't. May glanced over at the group who were slowly dispersing. "What I do know, is that this group will make idiotic decisions and get us all killed, so our priority is finding out who the invincible one is. Ugh, if there was any time to have a Twitch chat, it would be now. I moped. "Damn, I wish I had actually payed more attention. I was avoiding it because of spoilers. May bit her lip. "I think I can remember a few comments saying how annoying Carly and Mick were, so maybe they die. We can't base our survival on a personality contest can we? I mean, we should be seeing who looks the best at surviving. It's multiplayer, only like, one or two people always live. And you assume it's the nice ones. Archie glanced over at Chelsea. "Not her, the sensible ones always die. You seem very. Knowledgeable of the subject. I noted. "I've seen enough horror movies and played enough horror games to know the cliches. Smart, sensible, a bit socially awkward. They usually survive until right before the climax. The douchey ones usually die first, and there's always that one character who continually fucks up everything that causes the group to be in even more danger. And let's not forget the ones that have to fucking investigate literally everything. Okay, so you're the expert, what should we do. I checked over my shoulder to see us and Chelsea were the only ones left in the room. "We do everything like every other video game. Ask questions. She broke apart from us and walked over to sit next to Chelsea, who was playing with her hair. "Hey, Chelsea right. Y-yeah, that's me. she gave a meek smile. "So what exactly are you guys doing here. Chelsea looked down and continued playing with her hair. "It was Ben's idea, he heard about this place and how haunted it was, so we all decided to check it out. And you clearly were against it. Yeah, but I'm. I'm not really the one that has a say in anything. She gave a slight chuckle. "So what exactly do you know about this house? Why is it so haunted. Not really sure, you'll have to ask Ben. She gave an apologetic smile. "Ben. The one that went to look around outside. I grimaced. May turned to me, hands on her hips. This is good, we're on the right track. Huh. Does this not sound exactly like a horror game? Ask about the location and only one specific person knows who just happens to be the same one that went outside. Uh. I guess? I'm not following you. It means it's important information the player needs to know, which in turn means you aren't gonna die if you find him. How can you be sure. Because all games do it, trust me. I looked back at Archie and Chelsea who were quietly discussing among themselves and sighed. "So you want me to do it. You don't have to. She brushed some of her dark brown hair out of her eyes and I could see a twinkle of excitement in them. "Oh hell no, are you serious. She gave me a confused look and I dragged her out of hearing reach from the others. "You're enjoying this aren't you. What. You think this is fun. I do not. It's like how everyone is secretly hoping for a zombie apocalypse! You're enjoying the thrill of surviving a horror game. Quinn, you're being delusional. Am I. Yes, now go find some of the others and ask questions. Like splitting up? That's like, number one rule of what not to do. I told you, nobody is gonna die while we're figuring out the lore of the house. We had a stare-down and I finally caved. "Fine, but you see anything out of the ordinary, come running. And don't try and save anyone. Same goes for you. She turned back towards Archie and Chelsea. "I'm gonna go check up on Ben, I'll be back soon. What? No, you can't do that. Archie protested. "We should stick together. Trust me, it's fine. May gave a quick wave before heading out the door. "What the hell dude, why'd you let her go out. Archie tried following but I blocked him. "She says since we need information about the house, we can't be killed. Video game logic. Huh. I trust her, you should too. Sorry for being slightly concerned, but May has no clue what she's talking about. It's fine, she can handle herself, all she needs to do is outrun him. Archie seemed like he wanted to argue, but a cold breeze from the broken window caused him to shiver and sit back down. "You okay? Maybe one of the guys will let you borrow a jacket or something. I'm okay. No, you aren't. Chelsea replied. "We brought some supplies, hold on. We watched as she disappeared into another part of the house and I took the time to actually have a look around. It was old, but pretty fancy. I could tell it was stunning in its prime, the wallpaper had a faded dark red, there were gold decorations all over the place, and the furniture seemed classy and of upper class. The living room was more like a parlor, with bookshelves and sofas and couches lining the area. Off on the right was the entrance to the kitchen, and a staircase that went up to the second floor. On the left was a hallway to who knows where, and near the back was an entrance to what looked like another parlor where Chelsea had gone. A loud shriek caused both of us to jump and we rushed to find Chelsea on the ground, an angry look on her face with Mick and Carly laughing from another entrance of the room. "I wish I'd filmed that, you jumped 10 feet. Mick chortled. "Seriously, such a wimp. Carly giggled. Archie gave them a glare and hurried over to help Chelsea up, who had been carrying blankets that were now all over the floor. "Yo, did Ben come back yet. Mick asked. "No, May went to get him though. Carly rolled her eyes and turned to Mick. "C'mon, let's check upstairs. The two bumped past me on their way out, and I wanted to tell them to their face they would probably die first. "Yeah, they. They do that often. But, it's no big deal. Chelsea sighed. "Seriously? Why are you friends with them. Archie huffed. "Well, I. We're in the same group, I'm not really. Friends with them. Are you friends with any of them? Sorry, that came out wrong. I apologized. "No, it's fine. And yeah, Kyle and Paige I'm pretty close with, Jeff is pretty nice too, once you get to know him. But Kyle especially, he's. A really good friend. She stared off into the distance and Archie and I exchanged looks. "Oh! Um! Anyway, here are some blankets. I bet the guys wouldn't mind if you borrowed some of their clothes either. We should go ask. I suggested, remembering what May had said. "Sure, any idea where they went. I'll come too, I'm not really interested in being by myself. Chelsea murmured shyly. "Okay, well, ladies first. I motioned. Chelsea tossed the blankets onto one of the chairs as she made her way towards the staircase. The boards creaked as we ascended and at the top, we were met with a creepy as hell painting of a woman. "Shit, that scared the hell out of me. Archie breathed. "Glad I'm not the only one. Chelsea shivered. "I hate paintings like those, their eyes just follow you everywhere. I couldn't help but notice she was right, the eyes did eerily follow you. I looked away, though I felt like someone was still staring at the back of my head. Chelsea poked her head into a few rooms before finding Kyle and Gwen in one of the bedrooms chatting. "Hey, what's up. Kyle smiled. "Oh, um, I need some of your clothes. Not like that! They aren't for me, they're for him. Chelsea quickly explained, blushing hard. "Oh dude, no problem. Kyle motioned for Archie to follow and paused next to me. "You too? That outfit is uh. An interesting choice. It's a pirate outfit, for Hall- I stopped, trying to remember when the game took place. "I just like cosplay. Cool dude, well if that gets chilly, give me a call. I nodded thanks and watched as Archie and Kyle headed downstairs, before turning to Chelsea who was wiping off her fogged up glasses. "Oh um, this is Gwen by the way. Hey. she waved. She had lowered her scarf and I could make out her face clearly now. It was still weird seeing a video game character look. Human. She caught me staring and I looked down awkwardly. "So uh, how're you liking the place. I asked. "You mean the house? It's old, nothing much to it. Haha, yeah. So uh, you interested in ghosts and stuff. Gwen chuckled and patted the bed, so I moved over to sit next to her. "Honestly, this was all Ben. But, I won't lie, I heard stories about the place so I thought why not. What kind of stories. There were a few, but the one I remember being interested in the most was Bella Ludenburgh and her husband Roman. They were the second to last couple who lived here, with the family of their daughter being the last. Apparently, Bella wanted an affair with her daughter's husband and, well, things spiraled. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. It was. Now, there was no official word on what happened, but the stories go that Bella raped her daughter's husband one night and became pregnant. Her daughter Amelia found out, and promptly killed her and the unborn child. That's. Fucked up. It really is, especially since the whole thing was swept under the rug. What happened to Amelia and her husband. Died in a freak accident, right before they were gonna have a baby. Wow. Yeah, Bella got her revenge in the end. And Roman. Died shortly after his wife. Interesting. Is that painting near the stairs Bella. Yep, creepy right. So now what, Ben wanted to see if it was haunted. Well there have been people who come here and either go missing or become insane, he wanted to find out why. Sounds scary, almost like a. Horror game. Gwen blinked at me. "Anyway, why don't we check in with the others. Gwen nodded and the three of us headed downstairs. I did my best to avoid looking at the portrait of Bella. "Hey guys, we were just looking for you. Ben greeted. "We have a lot to talk about. May chimed in next to him. "Glad you guys are okay. I said, giving her a look. "Have Kyle and Archie figured out the clothing situation. Chelsea spoke up. "Not sure, we haven't seen them. Ben replied. "But we can tell them later. Guess what we found. A body. I glanced at May. We found this. Ben held up a rusty set of keys. "I bet this belongs to the house. Any idea what they're used for. Chelsea asked looking them over. "No, but we'll probably find out in due time. May responded, giving me a knowing look. "All the more reason to explore some more! Who knows what we might find. Ben cheered. "Death, lots of it. Chelsea insisted. "This is a bad idea, we shouldn't go poking around where we don't belong. Maybe if we- I began, before being cut off by a loud scream. Whipping our heads in the direction of the hall, we all bolted towards the sounds. Following the screams, we found Mick, Carly, and Paige in what looked like a study room. Mick was on the floor grabbing at his foot and Carly was panicking while Paige tried to calm them down. "What's going on. Ben yelled. "My fucking foot! Gah! I stepped on a blasted nail. Looking down, I winced as I could clearly see a large nail embedded in his foot. His sock was soaked in blood and he gave another cry of pain. "Oh shit! Hold on, help me get him to the living room. Ben instructed. I quickly supported one side of him as Ben supported the other, and we slowly made our way back to the living room where he was propped on one of the couches. "Fuck! It hurts. Mick trembled. "Just relax, we need to get a look at it to see if we can pull it out or not. Gwen soothed. Archie and Kyle had arrived and May quickly dragged us to a corner. "It's beginning. she hissed. "What? What's happening, I just got here. Archie whispered confused. "Mick stepped on a nail. I replied. "It's pretty bad. Pretty bad? That nail is fucking huge, he won't be able to run, let alone walk. May retorted. "Which means this is it. Still not following. I admitted. "The nail, the limping, the black guy being the first to get injured. Um. What. Archie gave me a look. "Pay attention guys, this is it, we got backstory on the haunting, we found an item to be used later, and now someone doesn't have the ability to run. This. Is. It. I finally realized what she meant and felt a shiver run down my spine. "Shit. So this is for real. She nodded, biting her lip. Archie gave a scared glance from us to Mick. "I still don't know what's happening, are we in danger. Unfortunately. Up until this moment, we were in the tutorial and safe, now, the real game begins...

Blood on Her Name Download torrent divx. O. The house had brackets on the archway that led to the front door. It was clear that the last family who had owned the house that they were of Greek origin. You know the sort, those plastic brackets that spread out in various patterns. They were signature decorations of every Greek family and Melbourne had its fair share of Greek families. Apart from Greece itself, Melbourne was populated with more Greek families than anywhere else in the world. The archway led up to the front door and inside the house it was spacious. A three bedroom home with a lounge room as well as a dining room, two bathrooms that lay on a quarter acre block. So there was always plenty of room to fix up or make renovations if need be. But for one reason or another it was on the cheap. For four hundred grand it was the cheapest place in the neighbourhood. My dad said it was because of the neighbourhood. There had been a lot of commission flats built up in the area which meant that there were people surviving off welfare in the area. He explained it to me this way, ‘Some people; their parents never worked, their grandparents never worked and as can be expected, they will never work. So instead of working they commit crimes and prey off those people who are busy at their day jobs and earning themselves a living. He had investigated the area, that was sure enough. But he never did his research on the house itself. It was just me and my dad. My mother had died giving birth to me and ever since then it was just me and him. I was fourteen, a boy who had hit puberty and I was in the eighth year of my education. We had just moved in from the country. I liked the country lifestyle and the solitude it brought, my father was working in the financial sector in some position that allowed him to work from home. When one of the banks offered him a better job, with a better rate of pay in the city. He took it. I had my complaints, but he managed to convince me that if I went to school in the city I would be able to make connections that would help me succeed later on in life. I put forth my own argument that most kids from the city grew up to be schizophrenics and were completely delusional. He told me to stop being ridiculous and I said that I was only pointing out facts and the fact was that people raised in large cities had a higher chance of developing mental illnesses later on in life. He countered by telling me that city life had all sorts of things to offer: live bands; good food; football; and all sorts of other entertainment. I relented, realizing that I didnt really have much of an option anyway. As a child, I mean as a teenager, you dont really have much of a say in the big decisions. Maybe every so often you might be able to negotiate eating pizza instead of eating a proper meal, but the big decisions are all adult decisions. And my father was the only adult in my life and for the most part I respected that. He worked hard to make sure I was clothed and fed, that I was reasonably entertained and that I didnt make any stupid decisions in regards to the direction my life was headed. I was good at math, average in English and did well in science and my other classes. It wasnt like I was leaving much behind in the country, ‘sure, living in the middle of nowhere provided you a certain amount of freedom, but it gets boring real quick. And so when my father put an offer on the house and that offer was accepted I just took things as they were. Realising that this would now be my new home, I was quick to check out the area. There was a skate park a few blocks away and the local shops still had one of those DVD shops. My father was largely educated on the economy and so he insisted that I never illegally download movies or games, so I was grateful that the shop was there. The high school that I would be attending was a fifteen minute bicycle ride away and had a large selection of different specialized courses that I could choose to pursue my own interests. Not that I cared that much, I stuck to the basics and preferred having my own time in which to read, watch movies and play computer games. The way I figured it was, ‘Why would I take lessons from a teacher who had no experience in the world outside the education system when I could read about people who were practicing various trades and past-times in a real-world application? It didnt make any sense to me. For me, high school was little more than some sort of mandatory established baby-sitting service that ensured kids were kept off the streets and didnt develop bad habits. That made sense to me more than a lot of the academic stuff that they taught in schools. For the most part I was a compliant student. Some of the time I would act up, but in reality, all kids act up a little when they reach puberty. The house was purchased and within a week we had all of our junk moved from the country into the new place. After that I re-commenced my studies. I was kind of shy, I preferred my own company and the company of a writers words rather than having to listen to other kids rattle on about football. And if they werent talking about football, they were talking about girls. And because I was the new kid, I was receiving all sorts of attention. I wasnt particularly attractive, but I wasnt ugly either. I guess it works like the latest flavour of coca cola or bubble gum, everyone wants a piece of the new thing. And because of that I attracted unwanted attention from some of the other boys. They cornered me in the high school halls one day, about three of them. They tripped me over and I fell down, then they started laying into me with kicks to the abdomen. As soon as I started to tear, they all backed away and left me alone. Leaving me there crying on the floor with the rest of the students watching. The girls left me alone after that… I. I woke up one night to get myself a glass of water. It was summer and the heat had left me dehydrated while I was trying to sleep. I first went to the bathroom to wash and cool my face. From the bathroom I could hear my father talking to himself in another part of the house. After washing my face, I stood there silently in the bathroom, trying to make out what he was saying. I didnt know if he was on the phone or what was happening, I just assumed because he was talking that he was talking to someone over the phone. I opened the bathroom door a smidgen to try and make out what he was saying. From all I could make out, he kept on repeating to himself, “I see. ” Over and over again. I didnt know what it was all about or who he was talking to. I waited until he had stopped talking before going out to the kitchen to have a glass of water. I passed the lounge room on my way to the kitchen and I could see him staring at the wall. I couldnt quite make out what he was staring at or what he was focusing his attention on. It appeared as if he was sleepwalking and sleep talking. There werent any lights on in the lounge room, but it didnt look like he was talking on a phone or anything. I once read somewhere that it was bad to wake up sleepwalkers in the middle of an episode, so I ignored him and continued on to the kitchen to get my glass of water. I turned the taps on the kitchen sink and poured myself a glass of water. I didnt want to make any noise in case I woke him up, but it couldnt be helped. The plumbing and the pipes were old. They must have grown rusty over time and so there was this large and repetitive series of clunks as I poured myself a glass of water. The sound of the pipes must have woken my father for the next thing I knew, I heard him screaming at a high pitch from the lounge room. In fright, I dropped the glass of water that shattered on the vinyl floor and I ran to the lounge room to try and comfort my father. When I reached the lounge room, I witnessed my father on his knees, holding his hands over his eyes. He had ceased his screams which was a good sign. I flicked the switch that allowed light to flood into the room so that I could try and figure out what was going on. “Dad, dad, are you okay? ” I approached my father with caution, not knowing how he would act. His hands were still covering his eyes, but he had regained some of his senses, “Eric? Is that you? Where am I? ” Knowing that it was safe, I walked up to comfort him, “You must have been sleepwalking or something. Are you okay? ” My father pulled away his hands that were covering his eyes to reveal that both of his eyes were swollen red and at the corner of each eye, a trickle of blood was running down his cheeks. “Im fine, I think. ” “Bloody hell dad! Your eyes, theyre bleeding. ” My father wiped away at the blood and looked at his hands. He looked back at me. His eyes were still red, but there was no more blood apart from that initial trickle. “Im fine son. Now, go back to bed. ” “But dad, your eyes…” “I said ‘Im fine. Go back to bed! ” There was something serious in the way he spoke, as if there was a hidden threat of violence. Now, my father had never been a violent man. But something about the way he said it scared me. I went back to the kitchen and quickly cleaned up the broken glass on the vinyl floor. Then went back to my bedroom without bothering to help myself to another glass of water. I lay in bed that night with thoughts concerning my father. Maybe it was just dust that had been kicked up in the house and thats why his eyes were red. Or maybe there was some sort of remnant bacteria that lay within the recesses of the building that would spread out and then would slowly eat away at my fathers eyes. Maybe I would wake up in the morning to find that my dad had no eyes, I continued staring up at the ceiling and the thoughts became even more ridiculous and bizarre until a fog overtook my vision and I drifted off to sleep. It was a dreamless sleep and I was awoken by the buzzing of my alarm clock. It was another school day and I got up out of bed and headed to the shower. The warm water soaked through my hair as I applied soap and lathered it in my palm, applying it to the follicles of my hair and rinsing it through. The sun was shining in through the window and it was going to be another scorcher. On the television the previous night, the news reported that it would reach the high thirties. After washing myself thoroughly, I turned the knob of the hot water tap, so that only cold water was running through. The rush of cold water sent my body into minor shock and I was now fully awake. My father was in the kitchen and I decided to approach the subject of the previous night, “Dad, about last night…” I looked at him to see if his eyes were still red, they werent. “What about last night? ” “Well… You were talking in your sleep. You were in the lounge room and kept on repeating yourself, saying, ‘I see. ” “I cant remember doing that…” “Do you remember waking up and telling me to go back to bed? ” “Not really…” He was drinking coffee from a mug with the inscription on the side that read, ‘Worlds #1 Dad. Thinking that it was a one off incident and that it wouldnt happen again, I dismissed last nights events, “Look, dont worry about it. ” I went to the cupboards in the kitchen and pulled out a loaf of bread and began making my lunch to take to school. My dad told me that he better head to work and went out to the car. I made and packed my lunch, then got on my bicycle and rode to school. The school day was average. I paid attention to the teachers and did the coursework, ever since I had been beaten and made a spectacle of crying in the hallways in front of the student body. I kept to myself, I was a complete and utter loner. I spent recess and the lunch period inside of the school library. Looking through books of an esoteric nature. Under the reference of one hundred and thirty-three under the Dewey decimal system. Looking up books on the occult and parapsychology. There were all sorts of wonderful books under that specific code. Books on vampirism, the supernatural and occult mysteries. I picked up a book on psychic phenomenon and begun reading about Dion Fortune and the Fraternity of Inner Light. I looked over the book that was filled with various symbols and diagrams. I dont know what it was with this sort of stuff? I was just naturally attracted to this sort of this thing. I knew that the occult was generally a charlatans business, but never-the-less, it still fascinated me. The alarm sounded that the lunch period was over and I returned the book to its shelf where it would lay in amongst other books containing occult mysteries and the like. The rest of the classes passed by easily enough and before I knew the school day was drawing to a close. When I went to collect my bicycle from the bike cage, I found that one of the tires was flat. So I ended up having to walk the bike back home. Because I was walking and not riding, one of the other kids caught up to me. “Hey, Eric isnt it? ” It was a kid, another boy, from my English class. I couldnt remember his name, “Ah, hi…” “Phil, my names Phil. I saw you reading those books in the library earlier today. ” “Yeah, what about it? ” I spat out onto the pavement, trying to appear as nonchalant as possible. “Well, you shouldnt mess with that sort of stuff. Some of its real. Especially living where you live. ” “What do you mean, where I live? ” “The house that you and your dad live in. That house is infamous. It has new owners every couple of years. Ive heard some weird shit about that house. ” I was intrigued, “Like what? ” “Nothing good. ” Phil said. “Tell me. ” “Well, the last people that owned that house were your all-round wholesome family. Mother, father, daughter and son. Everything was fine until one day the girl started going a little bit weird. ” “What do you mean weird? ” “She went to our school and started smoking cigarettes. She started telling everybody about her farked up family. All of these crazy things that they were doing. How her mum and dad started keeping these irregular hours and her little brother started talking in his sleep. ” “Thats normal, ” I said, trying to dispel what had happened the previous night, “Families are farked up anyway and teenage girls do that sort of thing. ” “Yeah. Thats what everyone thought. Nobody knew what was going on, but everyone in that family committed themselves into a psychiatric ward. They all said the same thing to the doctors. They kept on saying that they couldnt shake this feeling that they were all being watched. And they couldnt escape from it. I mean, the whole family in a psych ward at the same time. Thats kind of creepy, dont you think? ” “I suppose so… What happened after that? ” “Well, they moved out of the house and then sold it to you. ” We were coming up to a crossroads and Phil told me that he lived around the corner, down one of the side streets. He went his way and I went mine. I kept on walking, wheeling the bicycle in the direction of home. When I got home, I stopped in front of the house and looked at it for a while. There was nothing weird or abnormal about the house. It was just another kid, trying to freak me out. I took the bike out to the backyard where I could replace the tire tubing and tried to shake off whatever it was that was happening inside the house. II. Two months passed without further incident. The school term was coming to an end and lacking any friends, I found myself wondering what I was going to do with my holiday break. I supposed I would just rent a bunch of DVDs and binge watch them all. Those plans changed one day when I came home on the last day of the term to find that my dad had gotten rid of the television and DVD player, my computer as well. The television had been in the lounge room, opposite the wall that I had found my dad staring at that night. Instead of the television, my dad had hung a painting on the wall. I argued with him about it. “Dad, what the hell are you doing getting rid of the television like that? ” “Were going to start doing things differently around here son. I dont want to see you growing up being a couch potato. No, you and I are going to appreciate the fine arts. ” He pointed to the painting that hung on the wall where the television used to be, “Do you know who painted that son? ” “No and I dont care! Bring back the TV and give me back my computer! ” “That right there son is a painting by Peter Booth. ” I stopped and looked at the painting. It was oil on canvas and featured an old man with grey hair at its center, draped in a trench coat, with a white dog to the right of him and a city in flames to the left. It was kind of creepy. “I dont care who the paintings by! I want my TV back! ” “No, son. Instead of watching television all the time. You can sit and marvel at the wonders and mysteries of Peter Booth. Ill get a new painting in a couple of days and well put the collection on a rotating roster. Every couple of days there will be a new painting for you to marvel at. ” As my father spoke, he wasnt really directing his words to me. He was directing his words to some unknown figure behind me. I looked behind me to see who he was speaking to, and nobody was there, behind me was just the couch and that wall that he had been staring at that night. “Well, at least give me my computer back. ” “No son, all you do is sit there and jack off to porn all day. Im going to culture you. ” And so thats what I ended up doing with my holiday break. I sat on the couch in the lounge room and looked at the painting. First it was that painting by Peter Booth. Two days later, my dad came along with another painting. This time it was a painting by John Brack. My dad informed that it was called, ‘Portrait of Fred Williams. I sat there and looked at the painting. It was of a man dressed in a brown, tan suit; with a newspaper on a side table and below him lay a patterned rug. I sat there for the next two days musing over the painting. Different things would pop into my mind, like, ‘Where the hell did my dad find these paintings. and, ‘What the hell was he trying to achieve? But lacking any real friends, there was nothing better to do with my time, so I just sort of lounged there. Looking at the man in the painting and the man in the painting looking back at me. I would wake up early every day and my dad would cook me breakfast before heading off to work. And I would go to bed early too, my dad ordered me to. I kind of enjoyed the whole thing in its own way, I dont think any of the other kids at school could say that this was how they were spending their holidays. Two days after that came another painting. My dad informed that I was now looking at, ‘Judges, by David Boyd. “Who the hell is David Boyd anyway, dad? ” I had asked. To which my father replied that I shouldnt ask questions and that I should just sit there and drink it in. After staring at the painting that was done in oil, completely made up of a blue hue, featuring what appeared to be various judges heads all wearing their ceremonial wigs, for two further days it had me questioning my fathers sanity. Thinking about Phil and if there wasnt some truth to the story that he had told me. That night I defied my fathers orders to go to bed that night. Well, thats the half truth, I went to bed, but I didnt immediately fall asleep like I had previously done. I had to get down to the bottom of what was going on. I lay in my bed awake, attempting to piece together what was going on. I was also thinking about the paintings that my father had brought in and displayed on the wall in the lounge room. They were original paintings, you could tell from the oil and how it appeared on the canvas. He had given me the genuine article. ‘But the genuine article of whom. I wondered. I lay in my bed and thought about it. Painters and paintings were a dime a dozen, but these paintings were different. They captured something. As to what exactly it was that they captured, I didnt quite understand. They made me feel funny about it all. They gave me a queasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. It came to the stroke of midnight and I could hear my dad moving around the house. I was careful to make as little noise as possible, getting out of my bed and making like I was walking on egg shells. As I made my way down the hallways, I was sure to make sure that the floorboards didnt creak. I could hear my dad talking to someone in the lounge room, it was hard to make out at first. As I drew closer I could make out the words, “Its what you wanted isnt it? You can do it, right? Bring her back? Make my family whole again? Heal this broken heart? ” I didnt know who my father was speaking to, but whoever it was, the tone that my father used was ever pleading. I edged the door to the lounge room slightly. Opening it just enough so that I could look at what was happening through the gap between the doorway and door. I peaked through the darkness and could make out the back of my father, who was looking up to the empty space that lay above the couch. I looked to what I thought would be an empty space. But there, above the couch was an eye that was at least thirty centimetres in diameter. It was three dimensional and bulbous in nature. The eye was staring at my father, as my father stood there, pleading with the eye. “This is what you wanted! You promised me! You promised me! ” I shifted my weight on the door to try and get a better look, the door started to creak open and the eye immediately shifted its attention towards me. As soon as I noticed this, I jumped back away from the door and retreated back to my bedroom, careful not to make any noise. I jumped back into bed and turned off the light. I made as if I were sleeping as my father came into the room. I pretended as if I didnt notice and was sleeping through the event. My father flicked on the light switch, seeing that I was asleep, or at least pretending to be, he switched the light back off and closed the door. I lay in bed that night, for the better half of it awake and terrified. What the hell was that thing? How was it communicating with my dad? What did it want? What did it want… what did it want… It wanted to look at the paintings obviously. The paintings werent for me, the paintings were some sort of arrangement between my father and that thing. I couldnt look for any outside help about this thing, people would think Im crazy. My dad was under some sort of spell that this thing had cast. Whatever had to be done, I would have to figure out what to do on my own. I fell asleep in a muddle of confusion and fear. III. Not wanting to alert my father, I made out as if that night had never happened. I continued to view the paintings that would be interchanged every couple of days, careful to keep my mind and thoughts concentrated on the paintings themselves. The Eye didnt have a mouth or any other way of communicating, so I figured that it was working on some sort of psychic level. As I sat down on the couch, viewing the paintings, I could never be sure whether the Eye was open or not. I decided I better not risk it and concentrated solely on the details of the paintings. Paying close attention and ensuring that my thoughts did not wander. After two weeks, my school holidays had come to an end and I was back at school. On the first day back, at the end of the day, I ended up in the library. Looking through books attempting to find out what sort of creature I was dealing with. I found a book that listed out all of the mythical and supernatural beasts and monsters known in culture and folklore. I spent the better half of an hour, looking through the book, trying to find out what I was dealing with and what it was called. And I could find squat all. It was a frustrating process. I was about to give up, when Phil, the kid who had originally warned me about the house, came up and asked me what I was doing. “What are you doing there Eric? Yknow the librarys closing pretty soon. ” I looked up at him, looking up from the book I was reading for what seemed to be the first time in an hour, “Nuthin. ” “No, what is it? Youre searching for something. What are you looking for? Maybe I can help. ” So then I told him about everything that had happened. How my dad had forced me to sit and stare at paintings all day, every day, over the holiday break. How I had snuck out of my room that night to find out what was going on. And how I had witnessed the eye in the wall. “Do you know how crazy that sounds? ” Phil asked me. “If youre not going to help, you can get lost. ” I told him. “Oh, Ill help. But it still sounds crazy. ” Phil pulled out one of the books of the library shelves and started looking through the book in search of the creature that was just an eye in the wall. After thirty more minutes, I gave up, “Its useless! ” I called out to Phil. “What about this thing? ” Phil was pointing at a picture in a book on Egyptian mythology. He was pointing at the Eye of Horus, or Eye of Ra. “It says its called an Uadjit. ” I looked at the book, “Thats not a monster, thats just a symbol of an Egyptian God. ” “Damn. Okay, what exactly are you planning on doing to this thing anyway Eric? ” Phil asked me. “Im going to kill it. ” I replied. “It has some sort of weird control over my dad and I need to know how to avoid that. ” “Well, if its Egyptian, maybe if you write on your body in hieroglyphs a protection charm, then maybe youll be able to avoid any sort of power it has over you. ” The library was closing in five minutes and it was the best idea that either of us had. So I decided to go with it. I found a book on Egyptian spells and wrote down the hieroglyphs that were detailed to work as a protection charm against any outside elements. I thanked Phil for his help and rode my bicycle back home in haste, ready to confront this thing and be rid of the whole ordeal. When I got home, I found that there was a police vehicle parked in the driveway. My father was being escorted into the police car by two uniformed police officers. I dropped my bicycle and ran over to him quickly. Trying to find out what was going on. As my father was being shown into the backseat of the vehicle handcuffed, with one of the officers placing a hand on his head so that he didnt bump his head, my father made an apology, “Im sorry son. ” And then the door was closed and locked on him, nothing more could be done. The vehicle was already filled with the nameless paintings. “What the hell is going on here? ” I called out in complaint to the police officers. “This must be his son, ” the police officers were talking to each other, “Ill go inside and talk to him. You watch the suspect. ” The other officer nodded his head in agreement and then the police officer turned to me. “Can we go inside and have a chat son? ” “I suppose we better, ” I complied and showed the police officer into the house. And so I found myself sitting down with the police officer as he explained to me what had happened, “Theres no easy way to put this son, so Im just going to give it to you straight. Your father has been using his position at the bank that he works at to embezzle millions of dollars. He has then been using that money to appropriate masterpiece paintings at auction and the black market. Do you have any idea about what sort of madness would possess him to do that? ” “No, ” I lied. Not that hed believe me even if I did tell him the truth. The police officer looked at me for a moment. Weighing up my answer and attempting to ascertain whether I was telling the truth or not. “Do you have anybody who can look after you? Anybody that you can call that can come and take care of you while your father deals with all this mess? ” “I have an aunt who lives in the city on my mothers side. ” I lied, not about my aunt, but about my intention of calling her to come and take care of me. “Im going to trust you to give her a call, tell her about what happened and get her to come and watch over you. Can I trust you to do that? ” I was staring at the floor, but looked up to meet the police officers eyes, “Yes. ” “Good. ” The police officer left me there to do as he had instructed. After that I was left alone to my own devices. I went to the lounge room to confront the Eye. It was not open and I stood there staring up at the blank wall. “It happens tonight. We settle this tonight. Tonight, you die. ” After I said that, the wall became a brief blur and like popping a pimple, the Eye emerged from the wall. I tried to run out of the room. But my mind was overtaken by this all-pervading voice, coming from no clear direction, ‘You dont want to do that Eric. You and I can become good friends if you just let us. I can give you whatever you want if you work with me. Before me a vision appeared, it was of my deceased mother. A living, breathing image of her. She was reaching out to embrace me. I shook my head, shaking away the hallucination. “No! ” I called out, “Youre a liar! You fooled my dad, you wont fool me! ” ‘Very well Eric. The voice once again penetrated my mind, coming from nowhere, ‘If thats the way you want it. Then this sound began, like nails against a blackboard, it was this high-pitched screeching sound. And it just kept on getting louder and louder. I tried to escape it, tried to get out of the room. But the sound overpowered me. It felt like a great weight was pressing down upon my shoulders and was slowly squashing me, down into the floor. Grinding me down into the dirt. It was like a powerful migraine, but a hundred times worse. I felt for my face that had become numb. I moved my hand up to and away from my face, staring at my hand. There was blood on it. My nose was bleeding. After that, I passed out. I woke up sometime after midnight, with the blood dried on my hands and my nose no longer bleeding. I was attempting to figure out what had happened and then it came back to me in an instant. I snuck out of the lounge room and went into the kitchen. Luckily, the Eye didnt seem to notice my movements. I went into the kitchen and found a black permanent marker. I pulled the piece of paper out of my pocket that had the hieroglyphs written on them. I copied the caricatures from the piece of paper to my chest. Then I went to the kitchen drawers and pulled out a butcher knife. I tested the point with my finger, and drew a drop of blood. Yes, it was sharp, or sharp enough. I ran back into the lounge room, bare chested, with hieroglyphs inscribed on my skin. “Show yourself arsehole! ” The eye once again opened. It searched the room, looking for me, but I was standing directly in front of the thing. The hieroglyphs seemed to do the trick. I ran up to the eye with the butcher knife blade pointing down. I jumped up and with all my force, stabbed into the center of the eye. It pierced the gelatinous matter of the eye and I drove it all the way in. The whole house began to shake. It felt like a miniature earthquake was coming through the area. Black blood began to spurt out of the eye in a torrent. I looked around. It wasnt only the Eye gushing out blood. All of the walls were bleeding, black blood was oozing out of and dripping down the walls. It looked like the house was bleeding crude oil. I left the butcher knife lodged in the eye and began to twist the blade. The miniature earthquake around me grew more intense, as did the substance that was oozing from the walls. And then the walls started to combust into flames. I knew I had to get out of that house. I ran out of the lounge room and towards the front door of the house. The house shook once more in a major quake. It knocked me off my feet and I fell to the floor. It took the wind out of me, but I got back up and ran out and through the front door, out onto the streets. I ran out of the yard and out onto the street. Covered in black blood, that crude oil substance, I looked on as the house slowly went up in flames. Someone must have called the fire department, because soon the street was filled with officials to take care of the fire. I was taken into custody after that. Instituted into a mental health facility for youths. I dont know what to tell them, they think I burnt the place down because of what happened with my father. The world will never know the truth.
